Dabs let out a hysterical laugh ''did you really think making him jealous would work, in fact, how could you even think that he was in love with you'' and she continued with her evil step mother laugh

''just let it go Dabs okay. You want TJ? He's all yours. You want your fame back? You can have that too'' I was about to leave when Lebo and Sheila put their hands on my shoulders 

''she's not done'' Sheila said

''well she had better make it quick because I've got somewhere important to be, not that any of you girls would understand'' I replied her in a nasty tone

''you don't talk to her like that'' Lebo added

''see what I mean. it's always about her! You do things because Dabs tells you to'' this was my chance to break free from the DSL and I was not going to let it pass.

They looked at each other and their gaze turned to Dabs who was standing as if she was her royal highness Queen Elizabeth.

''no we don't'' came the uncertain reply

''really? If Dabs wasn't here right now what would you do?'' I looked at them with a curious yet knowing look

''well...'' Lebo started but couldn't come up with anything better than her first word. she turned to Sheila who just shrugged her shoulders in defeat

''well....she calls the shots and you are the door mats, right?'' I gave her a disgusted look ''when are you gonna clean yourselves up and look for a better door? or better yet just stop being mats''

''The way you did?'' Dabs commented

They looked at me waiting for my response.

''what do you want in life?'' I ignored Dabs

''I want recognition'' Lebo said ''I want people to acknowledge my presence and respect me for who I am'' her tone low and her gaze on the floor.

I looked at her to make sure she was done speaking then asked''and do you think you have all that right now?''

''because...'' she felt shy and was tempted to hold back her real emotions but when she saw my concern she went on ''....Dabs has all the attention and everyone else over looks us''

''yeah that's true! We've always been the servant and she of cause was the mighty one. I'm sick of it Dabs! I want to live my own life. I've been afraid of facing you but now I said it, I hate you for stealing half my teenage years '' Sheila intervened

Dabs laughed lowly and looked at them with pity before switching to the you going to do what I want you to do look. Her laugh was long this time and there was no pleasure in it.

''where are you gonna go? Who is going to be your friend'' she continued laughing and in that instant I saw regret in their eyes

''we'll start afresh'' Sheila said ''enjoy your lonely life Dabs'' and she left taking Lebo with her.

''I told you I was always a threat in your life Dabs'' the corners of lips curving upwards

''you going to pay for this Rea'' she replied angrily
