-Recap-

'The last spell was fired from Riverdale,' he gulped. 'To Peter Peverell.' he lowered his head.

I froze. 'What spell was it?'

He said in a hushed whisper, barely audible. 'Avada Kedavra.'

--------------------------------------------------------------------

I didn't know how to react; my mouth became dry. 'You're joking.'

'Its true.' he had his eyes glued to the floor. 'They are having the funeral right now.' he took a peek at me.

Peter Peverell. Cousin to Benedict Peverell, whom I so dearly love yet can't be with. I always remembered Peter Peverell as the carefree, hilarious guy, whom would always create havoc for laughs, just like the Weasley twins.

I sprang out of bed, and took up my wand, preparing to go to his funeral to see him for the very last time. Eyes flooded my eyes; it took me a great effort to keep them in.

'Lirana!' Kenneth stopped me. 'You can't go. You're still hurt.' he said, his hazel brown eyes full with concern.

'You aren't going to stop me.' my eyes narrowed. I started to feel the parts of my body complaining, but I still want to go, however miserable I feel.

He walked towards me, shaking his head, and I raised my wand, pointing it to him, my hands shaking as I shouted, 'Stupefy!'

My spell was not more than a mist. So much for the bravado.

Kenneth steered me back to bed, while I struggled to escape. 'Lira!' he said in exasperation. 'Don't be this way!'

'But I want to go.' All my energy was used up, and I could only resort to speaking in a baby-like manner, Lucy and Courtney's betrayal hitting me like thousands of rocks.

He enveloped me in an embrace as my tears finally spilled out, wetting his jacket. 'Shhhhh, it'll be okay.' he comforted me, in a gentle voice.

I said in a muffled voice, 'Its not. He's gone. He'll never be back.' It felt warm in his embrace, and I started letting my feelings out.

He rocked me gently, while whispering soft nothingness into my ear as I drifted to dreamland.

The following month was dreadful. I would wake up from nightmares, screaming for Peter Peverell to go back. Kenneth will always rush over and comfort me till I sleep again. I'd have to take my awful-tasting potion every 5 hours, and it tasted horrible. But as they say, nightmares don't last forever and time heals you, bit by bit, and I finally got over the sadness of his death, but a hollow feeling still remains. During the whole month, I saw no one except from Draco and Kenneth.

I could finally get out of the manor, back to Hogwarts. How I missed the lessons. Despite all that, I felt a little doubtful. From what I heard from Draco, Lucy and Courtney were on trial because they said they were uner the Imperius Curse. Riverdale was in hiding, of course. I don't know if I'd ever forgive them although they weren't acting on their own, I'm not quite the forgiving type.

Draco, Kenneth and I flooed back to Hogwarts.

Snape, the headmaster at that time, gave us a curt nod once he saw us. We returned one and went out of the room.

I reached for the doorknob and went out first, head held high, backbone straight, as what a pureblood must do. The usually noisy corridor silenced at once when I step out of the room, and I caught a few words. Those words didn't lead me to anything good. Some girls even shot me dirty looks. I rolled my eyes and looked in another direction.

'What are you looking at?' Draco snarled. Most of the people turned away, and some of them even walked away. One point to Draco. I heaved a small sigh and Kenneth put an arm around my waist to show his support. I didn't mind anymore; in fact, I liked it. MY conscience was screaming for me to push it away; but for some reason, I enjoyed it. It gave me the feeling of security. So I decided to follow my heart and see where it leads me.

'I'm going to find Astoria.' Draco's face turned stiff and unnatural.

We nodded, and Draco glared at Kenneth. 'Take good care of my sister, or else.' He winked at me and left for the grounds.

'Come on, lets go. Where's your charming badge?' he gave me a mischeivous smile. I scowled at him and reached for it for my pocket, and it wasn't there.

I put my hands on my hips, and sent him a death glare. 'Kenneth Thomas Avion, give it back. Now.'

'Not until you catch me.' he took off towards my left after the sentence.

'Kenneth--AVION! Get back here! We're not five!' I stomped my foot on the ground and took chase after him.

I've never appreciated the wind blowing my way, making my hair messy and ruining my elaborate hairdo. I never liked it. The wind was a source of annoyance, ruining everything I've worked on for the past hour or so. Never appreciated it...until maybe now.

'I've...got...YOU!' I huffed and pounced on Kenneth, pushing him to the ground.

As a result, we both fell on the ground, and we rolled over and over on the grassy ground with flowers. We were laughing while catching our breath at the same time, making it an exceptionally hard task.

The sun was setting, and the sky was a faint purple mixed with orange. The clouds were in a peculiar formation, yet they formed a very unique design. I sighed while we lay on the ground, staring at the sky while our fingers fiddled with the beautiful flowers.

'Its pretty, isn't it?' I sighed in happiness and a smile played on my lips.

'So are you.' Kenneth leaned over and tucked a beautiful lily behind my ear, giving me the most wonderful kiss I could ever have.
