-Recap-

'Its pretty, isn't it?' I sighed in happiness and a smile played on my lips.

'So are you.' Kenneth leaned over and tucked a beautiful lily behind my ear, giving me the most wonderful kiss I could ever have.

Snape has a very weird way of running the school.

Yes, go ahead and guess how. No? Making it into an army camp. Pffft military much. We have to march everywhere we go. Well except my brother and I though, as we have been made commanders. We always have special treatments as we are his godchildren. Slytherin Princes and Princesses get a whole lot of perks. We're basically leaders of the whole of Slytherin. Even prefects have lower ranks compared to us.

And for now, we're marching (well technically, the whole of Slytherin is marching except for Draco and I who are taking a relaxed stroll at the back.

'To your right!' Draco barked, and the whole of Slytherin did as told, scowling.

'How's it going with Astoria?' I asked sympathetically. I knew he fancied Hermione Granger, but dating a Muggleborn would mean zero inheritance, which no Malfoy would be so foolish to do so.

He grunted. 'Believe it or not, that witch hasn't been in my sight since you came back to Hogwarts. Not that its your fault, of course. She probably wanted to escape from me and used her chance when I went to get you.'

I raised my eyebrows. 'Couldn't you just order her to face you directly? We both have the power to do so.'

He shrugged. 'Leave her be. I don't want it, and its plain that she doesn't want it either. I see you're getting on pretty well with Avion.' he smirked, hastily changing the subject.

I flushed a bright red, then pinned my eyes to my polished shoes. 'Its okay, I guess. I mean, he's really sweet and-'

'You love him.' Draco interrupted while smirking.

How I wanted to punch that smirk off his face. 'I love him.' I confirmed, looking at Avion who turned as if he heard me, which was impossible. He gave me a wink, which I returned with a scowl (Hey, I'm a Slytherin, but some rules are meant to be followed, you know) he gave me a mischeivious scowl and turned back to the front.

'I heard from Benedict Peverell-' he stopped in mid- sentence, definitely thinking about Peter Peverell's death, and it was a gloom atmosphere.

Draco smiled grimly and continued, 'You've got your first kiss from Avion in the Hogwarts Express. Is it true?'

I traced back my memory to the day and smacked him on the hand while blushing. 'I didn't know, you of all people, would like to gossip! Especially when its about your own sister!'

He put on a egoistic face and answered, 'This is a cause for gossiping, ESPECIALLY when it involves my little sister.' he leaned over and messed up my hair.

I objected and tickled him. He could be tall enough to mess up my hair, and I can be small enough to tickle him and get away with it.

Finally, when we stopped messing around (after receiving a few glared from some of the teachers) he turned to me and said, 'Stop changing the subject. Did you?'

'I did not change the subject! It was-'

'Lira.' he said firmly and gave me "that" glare, and I laughed.

'I wasn't willing at that time, but I guess everything has changed.' I said.

'So its true.' Draco answered, looking back to the front thoughtfully. And as if right on cue, the entire Slytherin student body smacked into the wall, as they could only move in different directions only with commander's orders (Did I mention there was a magic involved?)

'Shoot.' Draco smaked his head with his palm.

'Hey, look on the bright side, at least they wouldn't be able to take revenge on you.' I giggled.

'But we've got to get these dunderheads to the hospital wing.' he looked at them and said darkly.

Days passed by.

Avion and I spent most of the time together, having fun, studying and everything else together. But the cheery mood slowly receeded, like the tide in the ocean. There was something going on, and we both knew it. But thanks to the engagement, I am kept out of the Death Eater clan, and am being taken care of by Avion's parents duing the holidays when we are required to return.

Or maybe only for now.

The skies were getting darker each day, and there was a mist in the air that brought gloom and misery to the people. Outdoor activities were banned, even Quidditch. Everytime I saw Draco, his skin colour would match the sky, greyish and dark circles beneath his eyes, caused by worry and stress. It hurted me to see him that way, but what could we do? This is war. As a pawn in the whole war, you are not allowed to do anything of your own accord, only at your master's bidding.

It was a dark, stormy day, like no other.

I was at my table, next to Avion, my head on his shoulder, seeking comfort like any ordinary day. Suddenly, we heard a loud tap, tap tap sound on the window. We both lifted our heads and looked at the window. It was a brown barn owl, its feathers badly ruffled. Kenneth stood up and brought it in. The poor owl, it looked exhausted. I tended to the owl first while Kenneth retrieved the letter.

Once I was done, Kenneth said, and in his tone, I could detect worry. 'Lira. Its from your parents.'

I spun around, shocked. My parents had told me that they would not contact me in any way unless it was important. I took the letter from him and walked to a corner to be alone to read the letter. The contents as follows;

Lira,

You have to get out of Hogwarts, now! The Dark Lord wishes to make you one of us, a spy within Hogwarts! A few Death Eaters are out to get you, and you must leave now. Bring Avion if you must.

Mother

I turned around to shout for Kenneth, but at the same time, I heard a loud thump.

A big hand was clamped tightly on my mouth, the other hand choking me. I struggled for breath and through my watery eyes, I could see Kenneth on the floor, with another Death Eater whose name I couldn't process next to his body.

I could hear a raspy, gruff voice and hot breath on my neck. 'Don't move. Don't struggle. You are meant to be with us.'

I helplessly clutched the arm that was on my neck, effectively choking me, needing air desperately. The arm and hands didn't budge.

Before the view before me dissolved and I blacked out, a thought flashed in my mind.

'Its too late.'
