I take Mia's hand and walk her into school. Her hair is in two braided pig tails and she is wearing a cute little dress with red flats. She is skipping with joy.

"MOMMY HURRY!" she says as she skips faster. Her excitement for her first day getting to the best of her. I laugh and walk alittle faster in my heels.

Ryder and I had just moved into a new house. Mia was so excited to finally get out of the apartment and so were we. We needed more room especially with little baby Johnson on the way. We decided to let Mia go to public even though Ryder put up quite a fight since he had been homeschool almost all his life but I won the battle.

I walked in and the bright yellow popped off the wall. Little kids were everywhere, smiling and talking to others. Mia fit right in. She walked right up to a girl with short brown hair and started to play. I smiled then walked over to the information table.

"Hi, I'm here to pick up paperwork and the number for my car"

"ah yes the name?" the older lady smiled.

"Mia James" (idk random last name) the lady nodded and looked through her files. as i waited, a little boy bumped into my leg. I looked at him and he shyly looked up.

"sorry miss" he said and looked down at his shoes. I bent down and look at him.

"it's okay, what's your name young man?"

"Zach" he said and looked at me. He had these big brown eyes I recognized.

"well Zach, my daughter Mia just got here, maybe you guys could be friends?" he smiled and nodded his head.

"Zach? ugh there you are, you scared me"

"I'm was running and I accidentally bumped into this lady"

"oh my, I'm so sorry"

"it's-" I stopped and looked at her face for the first time in awhile.

"Britney?"

"Desiree?" we both stopped and were in utter shock. our kids go to the same school. great.

"wow um how have you been?" she said rubbing her arm, nervously.

"I have been great, um hbu?"

"I'm pretty good I guess. so do you have a child that goes here?"

"um yeah my daughter Mia" she nodded.

"Zach! My little man!" Zach ran past this awkward conversation and over to the man who called him. I turned around and stopped. I dropped my sunglasses that were in my hand and my mouth dropped open. This can not be happening.

His eyes met mine and he stopped. Our eyes never left each other. He put Zach down and he ran off. He slowly stepped towards me. Each step my throat closed up even more.

"Desiree, is th-that you?" he stuttered and slightly turned his head. I didn't know what to say. I opened my mouth but nothing came out.

"It is you" he stopped right in front of me. his eyes never left mine. we just stared at each other. all the memories of us are flying back into my mind. our first encounter in the cafeteria, the constant making each other jealous, clean up after the sammy's party, our dates, the sex, everything.

"Matt I'll meet you in the car" Britney said and she walked out. Her eyes glared us down but I didn't care. Matt is here. Standing right in front of me.

"I can't believe this, um you look amazing" He said scratching his head. I still could not form a single word.

"How have you been?" I couldn't answer that. I wanted to ask him the questions not him as me. Why is with Britney? Does he know how much she ruined us?

"um desi, you're talking out loud"

"fuck" I cursed earning a glare from a teacher. Matt and I both laughed.

"so you and Britney huh? Zach is a cute kid"

"yeah he is, and the whole Britney situation is complicated"

"oh" was all I could say.

"so married?" I nodded

"oh congrats to who?"

"Ryder"

"Kids?" I nodded

"how many?"

"1 and one on the way"

"oh congrats"

"yeah" we both looked down and our words stopped. we both trapped in our own thoughts.

"Desiree I still love you" I closed my eyes tightly. I was scared he was going to say something like that. My silence didn't please him. His fingers found my chin and lifted it up slowly. Our eyes both glazed over.

"I really do, I never stopped" Tears started to form around the brim around my eyes. I shook my head and moved his hand.

"Matt you never loved me"

"yes-" I snapped which interrupted him.

"No you didn't, if you loved me, you won't have played me. You wouldn't have had sex with Britney the hour before our date. You wouldn't have tried to hide stuff from me. You would have stopped talking to her. You would have stopped having sex with her. You would have left her and not be married to her. You would told me the fucking truth." 

Tears streaming down my face at this point. I shook my head and tried to slip past him. He grabbed my arm and turned me towards him but I jerks away.

"I love you" he said again, "and I'm sorry"

"too late Matt, goodbye" I walked out the door with tears streaming down my face.
