General Comments

This movie is one of the prettiest movies I have ever seen. The sets of the shooting sessions were so breath-taking. I also felt that some scenes of this movie were taken from some fairy tales. The whole hunchback concept reminds me of Hunchback of Notre Dame and Lingesan's face and that song with Diya dressed as a princess reminds me of Beauty and the Beast where the only difference is that the Beauty (Diya) does not know that the Beast (Lingesan) is actually her Prince-Charming. I make this sound like an actual fairy tale.

Diya (Amy Jackson)

The first thought that crossed through my mind when I saw her was that she is a foreigner. It was my first time seeing a foreigner in a Tamil movie. It's not everyday you see foreign actors or actresses in Tamil cinema. With that aside, I'm going to go straight into the character analysis or whatever it is I write about the characters. Diya is a model. You would expect that she would have a crappy attitude as a model. Initially, this is not how she is at all. She rejects John's advances multiple times. This shows how she is not willing to put her self-respect on the line for her career. She respects her self more than her career. It's crazy what people do for publicity. Sometimes, it seems as if people let go of their characters in order to be famous. Yet, some famous people commit suicide as they are not content with their lives. When people commit suicide, it's not the body that they want to destroy, it's the spirit. Diya does not seem to be the typical model who uses her fame to her advantage at first. Notice how I said at first. She later turns into the typical model when it comes to saving her career. I don't blame her. People lose their minds when they are on the verge of losing something that they hold dear. It was her career for Diya. She takes advantage of Lingesan's affections for her to salvage her career. Even though she had bad intentions for befriending Lingesan, those bad intentions turned into good ones when she falls for him. If her career was not in the dumps, she would have never met Lingesan. If she never met Lingesan, she would have never fell in love with him. She did not adhere the quote: never judge a book by its cover. She did the direct opposite. She judged Lingesan after his transformation. It's not her fault though. She doesn't know what happened to Lingesan in reality. After all, Lingesan did fake his death, thinking about Diya's future. If she did know, she would take revenge on everyone who conspired against Lingesan. Lingesan had to take revenge on his own even with his transformation.

Lingesan (Lee) [Vikram]

Oh my God! There's so much to say about this dude. Lingesan was a bodybuilder before he was a model. You could literally see the oil glistening on his body, not that I was looking or anything. He idolizes Diya. You have to be obsessed to especially watch all of your favourite model's ads and save all of her advertisements from the magazine. I laughed when Lingesan cut out John's picture from the ad. I felt really bad for him when he found out that Diya was only pretending to be in love with him to save her career after she gets blacklisted. That must have been really hard for him. Not just him, it must be hard for anyone who is taken advantage of. There's nothing worse than coming to the realization that someone manipulated you for his or her own gain. It's not a completely bad thing that she used him. If she didn't use him, then she would have never got to know him. If she never got to know him, Lingesan would probably still be a bodybuilder. He would still save pictures of Diya's ad. Why is it that people are against those who are successful through honest means? I mean, Lingesan did struggle to get to where he was in the movie. It's not his fault that John is struggling with his modeling career. That's what you get when you try to manipulate your way to success. It's also not his fault that Vasudevan plots against his own patient. He lied about Lingesan's condition. He was the one who injected the I virus into his body in the first place so obviously he would have to lie about it to not blow his cover. What kind of friend does that? A untrustworthy friend that's for sure. I found it disgusting when it was revealed that he lusts for Diya. That is gross. You do know that Diya considers you as her mom's friend right? Pedo much? I was happy for him when he was able to get revenge against those who wronged him. He put everyone who was against him in a really bad condition. Osma Jasmine's own beauty supplies lead to her demise at the end. It's not fair how John survives. He should have died. In fact, he should have been the first one to die.
