Louis POV
"Liam fucking Payne, I swear if you don't give me back my fucking shoes I'm going to fucking rip your fucking face off!" I shout, chasing Liam around the apartment like we're eight years old.
Liam, my roommate, and I have been the best of mates for as long as I can remember. His mum and mine were friends growing up, and always stayed in touch. So, when they both had Liam and I at around the same age, it only seemed appropriate for us to become mates as well.
"Payno! I have my fucking interview for hopefully my new job, and I need to be out that god damn door in five minutes!" I shout one last time before tackling him to the hard, wooden floors. I poke at his chest in frustration, but am not quite sure why I'm taking it all out on him.
Normally, I wouldn't be this uptight about something as little as a pair of missing shoes, but this morning has been pretty stressful.
Today is my first "real interview" since I graduated uni, and to say that I'm worked up would be an understatement. For the two years after I graduated, I've only worked in small places, like as a counselor for Summer camps, but I haven't gotten an official job as a teacher. So, having a chance at "the big shots" is getting my nerves all out of whack.
It's not like I never applied because I was nervous, though, I just had always struggled with finding the perfect school that I would feel comfortable working in. Eventually, though, an old friend of mine got in touch with me, and suggested that I go out for the drama teacher at the school she works at. Her name's Gemma.
My whole life as a kid, I wanted to teach drama. I used to dream of teaching in a theater, the only place where I could truly express myself as a kid, so having the opportunity to teach students to be themselves without having to be self conscious is what I felt was best for me as a teacher.
"Louis, I don't have your shoes, nor do I know where they are," Liam laughs from underneath my grip, even though nothing he or I said was funny.
I roll my eyes, and slowly climb off of him. He gratefully stands up, and cherishes the opportunity to walk away from my presence, and I don't blame him.
"Why is it so damn hard to find a pair of sneakers in this god forsaken apartment?!" I shout, kicking anything in my path in search of my shoes.
"Lou-" Liam starts, but I cut him off, "Is it too hard to find a pair of god damn shoes!?"
"Louis-"
"I mean, the apartment is only so big."
"Louis!" Liam shouts, causing my attention to go to him.
"Oh for gods sake Liam, what?" I ask frustratedly.
He chuckles while shaking his head, "Your shoes are next to the front door."
