Harry POV
Too old. Too rustic. Too fancy.
These are my answers to every piece of furniture I have looked at. I'm not trying to be picky, it's just, I have a vision, and if the couches and tables don't reciprocate that vision, I'm not going to get them! I think by this point, Louis is about near loosing his mind, and I'm impressed that he continues to go out shopping with me.
"Haz, let's put the furniture off to the side, yeah? Why don't we start looking at paint samples," Louis suggests, taking my hand in his, and leading us out the furniture store, walking out the automatic doors and towards my car. I hop in the drivers side, and wait for Louis to get situated in his seat before reaching over the middle for his hand again. We stay like this the entire drive to the nearest Home Improvement store.
This whole process has been entirely stressful, and I can't ever imagine going through it alone. Louis has put so much time and effort into helping me out, and I'm not sure how far I'd be if it weren't for him. And I mean, he has his own job to worry about. I sometimes worry if I'm pulling too much time out of his social life. Would he tell me so if he felt the same way?
"Okay, so what colors grab your attention?" Louis opens his arms, motioning towards the wall covered in paint samples. I look around, and shrug my shoulders. Honestly, I haven't got the slightest clue as to what I want. I haven't picked out any furniture items, or flooring, or anything.
"Oh my god," I exasperate, dropping my head in the process. This whole thing is too stressful, and I want it to stop. I just wish I could snap my fingers, and the cafe would be finished.
"Hey, hey you're alright," Louis laughs, his voice light and soft. He approaches me, and places his arms on my shoulders. I feel him rub the muscles below his hands, and I instantly relax under his touch. "We don't need to do this now. I only thought this was what you wanted," he explains, sending me a heart warming smile.
"No. I do want to do this. The more I procrastinate, the less likely I am to get around to this. I just don't know what I want. But on the other hand, I know exactly what I want, and I'm afraid that I'll mess it up," I explain, my voice filled with uncertainty. I've wanted this ever since I started uni. I always dreamed of running a place where people can socialize, and will enjoy visiting. I want it to be comfortable, and I can vision how it will turn out... I just don't know how to bring it together.
"Well, how about you stop looking at the big picture, yeah? Take it piece by piece," Louis shrugs, walking away from my side to grab one of the samples. "How about these samples. Two of the walls in the building are brick, one of them has windows covering it, so you're left with one. Maybe a shade of red would complement the brownish/reddish brick?" Louis suggests, passing me a paint sample card. I slowly find myself nodding my head. I can picture what Louis is envisioning, and I agree with it one hundred percent.
"Oh god," I breath out, wrapping my arms around Louis smaller frame.
He chuckles, and eventually brings his arms up to wrap them around myself. "Everything alright, Haz?" He laughs, rubbing small circles into the small of my back. I pull apart from him, and press a chaste kiss to his forehead.
"Everything's perfect. I jut can't believe I thought that at one point I actually believed that I could do this alone," I chuckle.
Louis nods in understanding, "Yeah. You would've flopped," he replies, no sugar coating whatsoever.
