Four months later
I've nearly got one foot through the door before I'm being covered in girls, which is every boy's dream! Only if he's straight, though, or if these girls didn't happen to be his sisters.
"Oh my god I've missed you all so, so much!" I shout, attempting to give them each an individual hug, but I'm not sure if it appeared to look that organized.
I walk further into the entry way, tracking in piles of snow from outside. After I've dusted my shoes off on the floor mat, I step aside, making an appearance for Harry, much to the girls' surprise.
"We didn't know Harry was coming!" Phoebe and Daisy both cheer, small blushes covering both of their cheeks. Harry is quickly in the same position that I had just been in, and I only stand back and observe. I laugh quietly to myself, watching how the girls act around him. It's no secret that Lottie used to have a big crush on Harry when we were in high school, in fact, I think everyone was aware of it. Of course, she grew out of it, but she must've passed it down to the twins.
"That was the plan!" Harry smiles, rubbing the tops of everyone's head, ruining the girls' hair in the process. There are loud mumbles of complaints, but based off of the smiles that are still plastered on their faces, it's apparent that they are all joking, and are probably enjoying the attention they're receiving from Harry.
We all stay and talk in the entry way for a good five minutes, but all conversations are cut short with the sound of feet making their way down the wooden staircase; interrupting us all. My head, along with everyone else's, turns in the direction of the noise, only to see mum balancing a pile of, what I can only assume to be, dirty clothes in her arms. I'm not sure how her ears managed to ignore the loud commotion coming from below her-it must be some kind of adaptation women inherit after having kids...
"Mum!" I shout after she's made it close to the bottom of the stairs, not wanting to risk startling her.
"Lou-Louis! Oh my gosh, come here!" She drops the pile of clothes where she is and runs into my open arms. It's been a while since I've stopped by to visit, and I can't put into words how much I've missed her. We've always been close, and as a kid, the thought of eventually having to leave her side seemed foreign. I didn't know how I'd make it work. "I've missed you so, so, so much darling," she whispers, gripping around back even tighter than she had been before.
"I've missed you, too," I reply just as soft, slowly pulling away, so that I can look into her watery eyes. I give her a sympathetic smile before wiping her tears away with the pad of my thumb, "No crying! This is supposed to the most wonderful time of the year!" I joke, only wanting for my mum to smile.
"Of course it is, Lou, but I'm just so happy that you're here, and that you- you've brought Harry!" She changes her train of thought after she notices Harry standing in the background.
He gives her a shy wave before talking, "I, I hope it's okay that I came by. Lou had told me that he ran all of this by you..." Harry finishes, practically shooting daggers at me with his eyes.
Well damn. If looks could kill ..
Mum turns to me, giving me the explain yourself look.
"I wanted this all to be a surprise! See? Everyone's surprised! Surprise!" I cheer, hoping that my bright smile will become contagious. All I get in response is an eye roll from Harry, and a few chuckles from the girls and mum.
