Chapter 16

Felicity:

The second I get in the elevator I call Kelsey. When she answered before she could say a word. "Girl so the guys from the bar last night, turns out she is Ray Palmer and is helping Oliver put his company back together and he asked me to dinner tonight!" I yelled excitedly like a teenage girl. "Ok, but what happened to the guy you fallowed your heart back here for?" She asked me. "Well he hasn't shown any interest in me more than a friend and you told me to find a new less complicated guy remember" I reminded her with a touch of annoyance in my voice. "Your right Fe I'm sorry. Have a great time call me with the detail when it over" She told me.

I arrived at the restaurant first and they seated me at the window, I could see most of Starling City form my seat. 'Sometimes with all the evil I see here I forget how beautiful the City is' I thought to myself. "Felicity...Hello." I heard a voice in the distance as I was returning to reality. "Ray Hi. Sorry I was just noticing how beautiful the city is" I explained as he took the seat across form me. "Use to be a lot more pretty" he added. "Prettier?" I corrected. "A lot prettier" he restated with a smile. "Sorry Felicity the City looked a lot better before all the ashes over it." he continued. "Yes but a phoenix couldn't rise without the ashes" I reminded him.

During our meal we got to know each other, where we grow up, how we ended up in Starling City. "Did you see a flash?" I asked him. "No I didn't, it was most likely someone taking a selfie" he joked. "So how long have you worked for Oliver?" Ray asked. "Oliver personally just for the last six months or so, before that I was still at QC in the IT department for about three years" I answered. "If you don't mind me asking how did you get promoted to the CEO's personal assistant?" "Well a year or so ago I started helping Diggle helping Oliver getting caught up on what he missed those five years he was on the island. So when he took the position he wanted someone he could trust helping him" I informed Ray. "Why do you think he pick you to help him last year?" "Well I'm one of the youngest QC employees plus I don't have much of a life" I answered honestly. "You don't think it has anything this to do with how beautiful you are?" Ray flirted. I blushed and smile.

Ray took care of the check and we walked out of the restaurant. "Would you like a ride home?" He asked. "Thank you but I'm meeting my friend Kelsey for drinks. You know to talk about this date" I confessed. He smiled leaned down touched my cheek with his right hand, tilled my head toward his and planted a kiss on my lips. "Good night Felicity I'll call you" he informed me before turning and walking toward the parking lot. I hailed a cab, got in and directed the driver to take me to Verdant.
