Chapter 13

Felicity:
Diggle and Oliver just walked out the door to go meet with Ray Palmer. I clean the plates off the table and start the water to do the dishes and I hear yet another knock on the door. I got to the door and open it cautiously. "Felicity? Girl you better open this door I didn't fly all night to stand outside your apartment" Says the red headed women in my door way. With excited wide eye I scream "Kelsey! I'm so happy to see you... wait why are you here? Is Dougie with you?" I questioned. I invited her into my apartment. We sit on the couch. "So why did you leave Vegas so quickly?" She asked me. "Well I ran there to get away from my feelings after seeing Caleb and talking to my mom I realized I shouldn't run from them again" I answered. "So why did you come without your fiancé?" I continued. "It's over between Dougie and I, it has been for a while now. So when Caleb called and said you were in town I came to see you and your mom explain how you fallowed your heart back home. So I decided to fallow my heart and get out of that situation." She answered. "So you're moving to starling city?" I questioned hopefully. She nodded her head. "So where's your heart Fe?" "I'm really not in the mood to talk about it. The thing is even if he felt the same way I can't be with him because there is this girl who he loved or loves I'm not sure. They have so much history it's hard to know what's going on with them. I don't want to be the harlet who comes between any one. Plus he is totally out of my league, he is handsome and successful and I'm well just Felicity" I said in one breath. "You know what you need Fe a nice girl's night out. Get our drink on and maybe meet a guy that things are not so complicated with" she said with a smirk. "Oh and Fe that dark raccoon look doesn't work for you." "Oh yeah that, well someone broke into my apartment last night. I'm ok thought it doesn't hurt anymore just looks ugly." I confided in her. "Damn girl you really need this night out and don't worry I'll take care of that with some of my magical make up."
Kelsey went to take a shower before we started getting ready for the night. I quick picked up my phone to call Diggle "Hey Dig you and Oliver don't need to come over, my friend Kelsey showed up and we are gonna do a girls night but I'll see you guys tomorrow ok?" I told him. "Ok no problem I'll let Oliver know. Enjoy your night off Felicity." Dig replied before hanging up the phone.
Kelsey hands me this blue sequined dress that was knee length. I wore silver sling backs, a silver tennis bracelet that my father gave me before he left and match it to a pair of silver stud earrings I had. Kelsey does my makeup so well you can't see and of my bruises.
We arrive at Verdant around 9:30pm and stand in line waiting to enter the club. "Felicity?" calls Clark the door man. "What are you doing standing in line? Get up here" he continues. Kelsey looks at me surprised. I grab her hand and pulled her in to the club with me. I head to the bar and she head to the ladies room. Two vodka and cranberries I tell the bartender. A short skinny man slide up to me and took my hand in his "Dance with me" he demanded. I declined but he kept pulling insisting, after refusing for the third time a tall dark haired man grabbed the small man's arm "The lady said no" and just like that the little man walked away. "Thank you" I said searching for his name. "Ray" he said putting his hand out to shake mine. "Felicity. So you out celebrating Ray?" "Yes and no. Happy that my new business venture will allow me to taking down someone who takes from people who have hit hard time, plus I'll be helping some people while I'm at it" He answered. "Wow that honest" I said. "I don't see the point of lying." "Honest is a great quality for a man to have, especially a very attractive man like yourself...um well I better being getting back to my friend. It was nice meeting you Ray" I said turning quickly out of embarrassment.
I get to a small table where Kelsey is standing waiting for me. I put the two drinks down. "A vodka cranberry for my lady" I joke. She giggled and questioned "So who was the cutie at the bar?" "Oh his name is Ray he saved me from this drunk who was trying to make me dance" I answered her. "So did you get his number?" "No. I don't think I'm ready for that" I told her. We went to the floor and dance threw about five songs until we were both parched and need a drink. We went to the bar and got a two bottles of water and headed back to our table. "Oh Fe I forgot to ask you how did the door man know you so well and let you skip the line?" She asked me seriously "So Oliver owns this club and you know how I am an IT girl well that's not so true anymore, I'm his assistant." "Ok but how often are you here with him?" she asked. "Just a few times a week." I said quietly. "What does this club have to do with QC?" Kelsey asked me. "I'm more like this personal life assistance" I joked. "Isn't that a lot of hours?" Kelsey wondered. "yeah, but we since we spend so much time together we've become friends so most of the time I'm here I'm just hanging out" I explained. "Alright I just don't want to see anyone take advantage of you Fe" Kelsey said with concern. "Don't worry Kels I'm good, no one its taking advantage of me I promise." I told her with a smile. She nodded her head toward the dance floor "ready to get back out there?" I ask in agreeance. We turn and start walking after two steps BAM I slam into something someone.
