Sam's POV
My father, dressed in a white shirt and dress trousers, a cigar adoring his mouth and a bottle of alcohol I'm his fist. A wicked smile wiped across his face and his sickly green eye glowing the low level lighting from the Christmas tree.
My heart beating 300 miles an hour. My brain threatening to exploded all the anger and rage was bubbling up, and was about to spew when a delicate touch brought me back. Matt's arm caressed my waist, hugging me closer to his side. "You alright babe?" He whispered through my hair. I nodded in reply, and gazed back to the door where he was standing. But there was no figure. No wicked smile. No glaring sickly green eyes. Just an empty threshold and nothing else.
"How are you my darling?!" Exclaimed my Aunt Adele, in her squeaky, high pitched tone. Her lips came into contact with my cheek, followed my the other and then her hands cupped my cheeks. "Oh you've lost weight! Finally got all that baby fat off you." She remarked. Matt's grip tightened around my waist, and I nudged him slightly to reassure him. "Oh and who is this?!" He said, indicating to Matt.
"Aunt Adele, this is my boyfriend Matt." I said turning to him.
"Oh hello!" She said, repeating her greeting on both of Matt's cheeks, leaving red kiss marks in both. "Oh I'm sorry, I left some lipstick on you!" She produced a white scrupled tissue and licked it. "I'll get that off," Matt's face turned to the colour of ash. When almost a centimetre away from his face she pulled away. "Oh not I'll let Samantha get that for you." She said, holding the tissue away. Matt and I giggled awkwardly, as I rubbed the substance off his face and leaving a kiss in the space.
Over his shoulder, I saw him again, my father. I gasped slightly as he flashed a heinous smile. Matt heard this, and placed my hand of my shoulder. I looked into his brown orbs and back to the phantom, and again he had disappeared. What is going on?! "Are you sure?" He whispered again.
"Yeah" I whispered back. Turning back the the room of people.
"Well we'll take your bags upstairs and help you gay settled in. How long are you staying till?" My mam asked.
"Just till Boxing Day morning, we're going to Ireland to see Matt's family."
"Ireland!" Shouted (great) Uncle John, awaking from his slumber. "You know I went to Ireland in the 60s, and there are some beautiful women there!" He said going off into a day dream. "Tall...thin...stacked.."
"Okay! Matt shall we go upstairs?" I interrupted. Matt nodded, as mam, uncle bobby and Matt all hauled our suitcases upstairs to my old bedroom.
The room always had that same smell. Smell of clean fresh cotton, and a slight musky smell of petrol, for there was a station just around the corner. It was nearly exactly how I left it, white walls, white furniture, and the twinkling of my fairy lights intertwined with my bed frame. Many black and white photos we've scattered across my wall, much like the collage I have back in my dorm at RU. I flicked on my lap, and mam and uncle Bobby left the room. Matt and I exchanged a look and burst out laughing.
"Yes the girls in Ireland are stacked" he mocked as we continued to giggle.
"Oh I'll let Samantha get that for you!" I mimicked Aunt Adele's "superior tone".
"Well are you?!" He said pointing to his cheek. I laughed and rubbed the remainder of the red stuff off his cheeks.
"I think it suits you!" I joked. Matt's arms snaked around my waist. Biting his lip, he leaned in to kiss me. My hands found his messy curls, I knew he loved this. His lips trailed down to my neck, nibbling and sucking also.
A feeling in the pit of my stomach progressed, although it wasn't what I thought it was. It was the feeling of being watched. I felt someone's eyes burning into my skin. As I fluttered my eyes open. The sickly green stare was upon me again. I gasped as stepped back from Matt, my hand covered the noises coming from my throat as I took in the horror. "Sam!"Matt exclaimed, as I backed against a wall and squeezed my eyes shut. "Sam! What's wrong?!" I reopened my eyes and the beastly jade stares had disappeared again. "Sam! For fuck sake!" This woke me up out of my coma of a state.
"I'm fine. I'm fine" I spoke quickly.
"No you're not. What's the matter?"
"I'm just a little tired from the trip. That's all." Matt stalked towards me and hugged my tight. I encircled his neck with my arms, and held him close.
Pulling away he cupped my cheeks and breathed "what am I going to do with you?" This made me giggle and lightly pecked him on the lips.
"Dinners ready!!" Mum shouted from down stairs. I took Matt's hand and we headed down, towards the delicious smells of my mothers cooking.
