Lilypool's Lullaby

Chapter 11 Lilypool's Rage

I opened my eyes and lifted my head. I got up and walked out into the camp and all the cats who were awake and out in the clearing looked at me. "I am off to get my nine lives from Starclan alone, I leave Falconflight in charge untill I return."the cats all nided exept for Nightclaw and Sandpelt. "Well at least she left a cat who knows how to lead." Sandpelt hissed. Nightclaw got up and started to walk over to me. "No you cannot go alone I will go with you and I'm not changing my mind." he said . knowing there was no way I could change his mind I turned and started to walk in the direction of Mother mouth. We got there rather quickly with him telling stupid but funny jokes like "whats black and white but cares for nothing?" I shrugged my shoulders and flicked my tail "I don't know." upon my answer he said "Blackfoot!" he burst out laughing and I just shook my head and smiled. 

Once we got there I was going to ask Nightclaw to stay but he just started walking into the darkness. I ran to get ahead of him an s lead the way into the blackness that swallowed us up. It felt cold and I was glad Nightclaw came because his fur brushed against mine and warmed me. Soon I felt the walls widen out and looked up to see a hole in the roof. "We are here." I said my voice echoing off the walls. I saw the moon slide into view above the cave and the moon stone lit up and brightened the cave I walked forward and left a dumbfounded Nightclaw sitting and staring in amazement. I sniffedmthe rock before pressing my pink nose against the smooth and cold rock. The world went dark and soon I was standing in an area that was wide and some what sparkling.

Then cats started to appear and I could recognize some of them. Duskfur, Dawnpaw, Birchstar, Deadfoot, Hawkheart, and some cats I didn't know. "Welcome Lilypool are you ready?" a silver tabbt she-catasked. I noded unable to speak. Then the first cat stepped forward, Deadfoot. "With this life I give you courage, use it to be strong even if others tell you other wise." with that he placed his muzzle on my head and did something that made my body stiffen painfully. Then he stepped back and joined the other cats as another cat one I didn't know stepped forward, her tortoise shell fur glowing slightly my body relaxed as she stepped forward and spoke "with this life I give you care, use it to protect your clan and be caring torwards them when they are in doubt." she did the same thing Deadfoot did and my muscles tensed as a strange feeling entered my heart. She stepped back and another cat that was grey with dark spots almost like a gooses stepped forward.

 "With this life I give you honesty, use it to guide your clan and never be afraid to r ell them the n truth." he repeated the action and tingles wherw sent rippling up and down my spine making my fur bristle. Another cat stepped up and stared att me with beautiful blue eyss and a snowy white pelt only her ear tips where grey. "With this life I give you generosity, use it tame sorrowful cats with meaningful things." she repeated the action that sent prickles into my fur uncomfortablely. The silver tabby she-cat stepped forward. "With this life I give you optimism, use it to lighten the pain and sorrow of your clan when things seem to be terrifying or threatening." she repeated the action and a tight and clutching feeling wrspped around me. Then Birchstar walked over to me and started "with this life I give you open-mindedness, use it to understand the needs of others." he rested his muzzle on my head and my head felt heavy and compressed. I shook it and the feeling left. Then Duskfur walked over and said "with this life I give you integrity, use it to follow moral or ethical principals and be ready for things." she repeated the action and my heart felt like it e ould burst. Then Dawnpaw was there and I bent my head down for her to reach it. "With this life I give you love, always know its the strongest thing and you should listen to yojr heart if you are at a tie and have no idea whats best for your clan." she reached up and Resred her muzzle on my head doing something and my heart felt like it would swell and a painful feeling pver came me. My family came and rubbed against me before saying goodby and disapearing. The world went black again and I opened my eyes and saw darkness around me and lifted my head. "Nightclaw?" 

I heard a yawn and he replyed "I'm hear. You where asleep for a longtime. I fell asleep to."he said. I laughed and stood up I walked forward and Nightclaw. Bushed against me and we walked oit of Mother mouth and into the early dawn. We started walking back to camp then I stopped. "Why did you want to come with me? Don't you and Sandpelt do everything together." I said twitchng my ear. He snorted and turned to face me. "No we do not and maybe if you came out of your den then you would see that we don't!" he said with a snap and baring his teeth a bit. I flinched and he turned and started walking away, I felt my heart sink and started to walk when a painful thing was shot into me, I yelped and turned to see a shiny thing with red feathers stiking in flank. I pulled it out and tried to run forward but my legs buckled and I fell on the floor as the sound and smell of a two-leg neared me and I think where is Nightclaw? I feel the the two-leg wrap its paws around my neck and I struggle but it still picks me up and says something in its language and I hiss in its face and it looks a bit upset at this. 

I hear a cat yowl and then a flash of black as Nightclaw jumps and claws in between the two-legs legs. The two-leg screeches and flings me roughly and painfully to the floor. The two-leg runs off and falls and holds in between its legs. Nightclaw walks over to me as I slip into an uneasy sleep. I feel a furry and soft feeling in between my legs and on my chest and belly and chin. I open my eyes and see that I'm on Nightclaws back and he's carrying me on his back. I shake my head my legs are numb and I know that I will be unable to walk. I hear the bushes rustle and Sandpelt steps out and her lip curls. She jumps and pushes me off his back and stands over me. I stare up gingerly into her blazing amber eyes "stay. Away. From. Nightclaw!" she hisses in my face. I smell Nightclaw getting angery and she says "I had a worse life than you! Both my parents are in the elders den and my littermate is in a different clan!" she says trying to gain the sympathy of Nightclaw. I feel anger bubble inside me and I force myself to my paws. "I lost my sister to a monster my mother went missing and when I found her she died because of a tree. A TREE! Then my father, and your past leader, I found and tried to save but still joined Starclan because of a shadow cat." I said my harsh and pain filled green eyes locked on her amber ones. She ducked her head and allowed me to be her leader. Not a rival. 

We head back to camp. The clan cheers my name but I tell them to continue calling me Lilypool. They do. I settle into my nest and rest my head staring out into the stars that are just barly visable.
