Chapter 3-New A-troupe

Riley's POV

We come into studio A and it feels weird. I don't know how we're going to win any competition like this.

"Hi Riley," Stephanie whispers,"Are you OK? You look kind of ill."

"Oh, it's nothing it just feels weird with all these new people that I've never even worked with before."

"Well, I'm sort of used to it because I was in B-troupe for quite a long time."
"It just doesn't feel like there's enough chemistry between the dancers."

"I'm sure it'll be fine, it's not like you know nobody."

"I guess, come on we better get warming up." We walk over to the middle of studio A when Richelle comes over and starts stretching next to us.

"Hi Riley," she says.
"Hi, well done on making into A-troupe,your dance was amazing."

"Thank you. How's Emily?"

"She's fine but she said that it feels weird not being on A-troupe but her knee's just recovered so she can dancer now but she hasn't danced in a while so she's basically been practicing every morning just to get used to it."

"OK everyone are we all warmed up?" Miss Kate shouts,"So this year we are going to be doing Regionals again but our routines are going to be better than everyone else's because most of us have done it before! Carry on stretching for on more minute I just need to talk to Phoebe!" We carry on stretching until she comes back out again.

"OK, so to get to know one another I think we will do duets," she suggests,"We'll have Noah and Skylar, West and Josh, Cierra and Abi, Stephanie and Richelle, Riley and Mia and Michelle and Thalia." I get to go with the new girl!
"Bye Steph," I say and go off with Mia. We go into the music room where we get all the space to ourselves.
"So you can't..." I start saying.

"You're not mentoring me we're just get to know each other by choreographing a duet together OK so we start like this in a line, get it?" she interrupts.

"I know that I'm not meant to be teaching you I was saying that you can't dance in denim shorts and killer heels."

"I can wear what I want."

"I'm suspecting that this is your first year at a dance studio because there's no way you can dance like that, how are you meant to be do acro?"

"I'm not."
"Lets just get on with this."

"NO! I can't believe I was paired with you!" She then picks up her bag and storms off. Well that went well. Who does she think she is? I then hear my phone ring. It's James.

James-Hi

Me-hi

James-How are things going?

Me-Not too well actually.

James-Why not? What's wrong?

Riley-We have to do duets and I got paired with this new, arrogant girl and she just left in rage.

James-So what are you doing?

Me-Nothing really. Have you found a new dance studio?
James-Not yet.

Me-Sorry I really gotta go I'll ring you back tonight.

James-OK bye. I end the phone call and put my phone back in my bag as Miss Kate walks in with Mia and Miss Kate has a stern look on her face.

"RILEY IN MY OFFICE NOW!"
