Chapter 10-Unexpected Visitor

James's POV

I wake up and 7am in the morning and hear a knock at the door.
"At this time?" Riley groans, still half asleep.
"I'll get it," I answer. I pull on a plain white top and go downstairs to the door. I try and look through the letter box but I can't see properly so I just decide to open the door and to my surprise it's Emily and Miss Kate.

"James, I'm really sorry about this time but it's just the time we got here," Miss Kate says.
"Don't apologize, come on in," I say, ushering them to the kitchen. Then Riley walks in with her dressing gown on and slippers.
"Hi Em I missed you," she says, going up to Emily and hugging her.
"I think Mum has gained mental issues," she says, laughing.

"So what's up with her?"
"Nobody knows what to do with her."
"Well ummm...I forgot to tell you I called the police and they've arrested her," Miss Kate adds in. There's an awkward silence where there's just me, Riley and Emily staring at Miss Kate in shock.
"I'm so..." she begins.
"No it's fine I'm so glad you did that it's just that...my Mums's a...criminal?" Emily says.
"I guess so," Miss Kate says back.
"Thanks a bunch," Riley says.
"You're welcome."
"Do you wanna stay the night?" I suggest.
"I packed a suitcase full of clothes for one week cos I didn't know how long we'd be here," Miss Kate says.
"Perfect. You can make yourself's at home in the spare room while James and I get dressed," Riley says. They then disappear upstairs while we gobble up the remaining of our breakfast.

Emily's POV

I'm just sitting on the sofa with Miss Kate, James and Riley with a bowl of popcorn on the table.
"Oh!" Riley cries,"I forgot something!" She then runs off upstairs. James obviously knows why she ran but Miss Kate and I just look and each other confused. She then comes back with a bag in her hand.
"James and I bought this for you because we're really sorry about what happened with Mum so I bought you this," she says, placing the bag on my lap. I take out the first thing, a packet of my favourite sweets from when Riley and I were little children.
"They still sell these?!" I say, confused.
"Obviously so, don't worry they're not out of date!" she replies. We all laugh as I take out the final thing. It's a beautiful pearly pink sweater dress that I told Riley I wanted so much recently.
"I love it! You know you don't have to do this," I say.
"I know I don't have to, but you're the best sister I could have ever wished for," she says.
"Awww, how cute," James teases.
"Oh shut up," Riley says, slapping him gently.

Riley's POV

We're just chatting when I hear a knock on the door, at least this time it's a decent time. I go off to answer it and as I open it and I see who it is, I step back with fear.
