Riley's POV
I sit next to James in hospital. He's been unconscious for a week and I'm getting really worried.
"U," I hear someone say.
"What? Who the hell is that?" I ask, probably to nobody.
"Where...where am I?" I look down and it's James and he's slowly opening his eyes and sitting up.
"No sit back down!"
"Why who are you I can't see very well sorry."
"Riley. I'm phoning your Mum to tell her your awake.""I'm...awake?"
"Look, what was the last thing you remember?""I remember...your Mum and she was aiming the gun at you so I stood in front of it and...that was it."
"You...you...stood in front of the gun.""Yes."
"You risked your life for me?"
"Yes, of course I would.""J..."
"James are you OK I've been worried sick we haven't had rehearsals in ages because I've been worried about you!" Miss Kate cries, bursting in the room, followed by Emily and Deborah."Where are the doctors?" he asks.
"Why are you OK James?!" I ask, panicking."I need some fresh air." I press the button on the wall and after one minute a doctor comes.
"Oh yay! He's awake!" the doctor cries when he comes in. He has a cheery Russian accent and throws his arms in the air whenever he talks.,"Now, I just need to do some tests before you leave let me just, good, and can you read this for me?" James closes his eyes and opening them again, each time shutting them for longer.
"Oh, that's better, A H J F." He says."Perfect, it looks as if everything's OK you can leave when you wish!" he says before walking off.
"You ready to go?" I ask.
"Yes." He gets up and takes my hand. He hasn't walked for a while so we're way behind the others."Riley," he says.
"Yes...""I thought you'd be a little more...excited when I woke up."
"I was just a little shocked and I din't know what condition you were in, really I was excited but...""You do love me, don't you."
"Of course I do, I've been sitting next to you for a week worried sick!" He smiles and we share a kiss.
"Hurry up!" Emily shouts. We run to catch up and James and I get into my car. In the car I turn the radio on.
Breaking news. A woman, aged 48 made a prison escape twice now and has been served with extra punishments in prison. He two daughters, aged of 18 and 19, named Riley and Emily had been kicked out of the house, listen to more about this story at 5.
"Woah, you're Mum's a famous criminal!" James says, turning the radio off.
James's POV
Riley ignores me and keeps a straight face. I can see she's stressed about this.
"Sorry," I say.
"I'm like, the daughter of a criminal! What are people going to think of me?!"
"The shouldn't think you're bad, you're not bad. If people think that you're mean then they're the mean ones."
"OK I understand but I'm not two.""I was just..."
"No, it's fine I'm sorry I'm just...angry at Mum, I can't believe she would do this to...to...everything!" We pull up in the drive and walk to the front door when we get blinded by flashing cameras.
"Tell us Riley, how do you feel about your Mum making so many prison escapes?" a reporter asks, holding a microphone up to Riley's face. She pushes it out the way.
"OK...do you feel sorry for your sister?""Leave her alone!" I shout but I seem unnoticed.
"Leave!" I carry on shouting, I take hold of Riley's hand and try and push my way through to the door but the paparazzi stand in front of us.
"GO AWAY I WANT TO LIVE A NORMAL LIFE I'M JUST TRYING TO GET INTO MY HOUSE!" Riley shouts but yet again, nobody listens.
"So, is this your house that you moved to after your Mum kicked you out? Why so far away from your home in Toronto?" the reporter constantly floods Riley with questions.
"Please leave me alone!"
"We'll call the police!"
"Well, it seems like we're not getting anything out of this, we'll come back tomorrow," the reporter finally says and they all leave."Give me the keys!" Riley shouts to me, snatching the keys off me, unlocking the door and running upstairs into our room. I step in and close the door behind me. I didn't know this would go this far.
