Chapter 19-Thalia's House

James's POV

We down for breakfast at Thalia's house. She let us stay the night in her spare room and the rest of her family are away.
"Thalia, do your parents even know we're here?" Eldon says.

"Umm...no but as long as you leave before they come back it'll be fine," she says.
"When are they coming back?" I ask.
"Don't know but it will be fine cos you're leaving today anyway."
"Do your parents leave you alone a lot?" Riley asks.
"Yeah but I'm used to it."

We get dressed and then go downstairs. Thalia doesn't have rehearsal today so we spend time doing crazy stuff until we hear a knock on the door.

"Hide!" Thalia whispers.
"Thalia who are you talking to?!" her Mum shouts through the door.
"What are you talking about you must be imagining things!" We hide behind the sofa and it's really squished.
"James I'm going to be sick," Riley whispers.
"Run before they come in." She crawls out of the sofa and goes to the bathroom. Thalia opens the door.
"James move up!" Eldon says.
"No you move up!"
"Move!" He budges me out the way but he also moves the sofa. It bangs into the wall and hits a tall metal pole with a glass vase holding a candle. Glass smashes everywhere and the sofa and the carpet set on fire. Then the smoke alarm goes off. We run outside and the fire spreads throughout the whole of downstairs.
"I'm calling the fire brigade and the police because you two boys just set my whole house on fire!" Thalia's Mum shouts. I look down at the ground. I can't believe I just set Thalia's house on fire. But then I realize.
"Riley's still in there!" I shout. I start running into the building but Eldon grabs my arm.
"James you can't go in there!" he shouts. I turn around and a fire brigade, an ambulance and a police car comes. The firemen go in as Eldon and I get put in the police car. As we drive away I see a fireman come out of the house carrying Riley.

Thalia's POV

I watch Riley being taken into the ambulance. She's unconscious and has burns on her arms. They all drive away until it's left with just me, Mum and Dad. They cross their arms and look at me. I'm in big trouble.
