Chapter 12-Police Car Escape

Riley's POV

The door knocks louder.

"I said we're the police let us in!" they scream. Miss Kate reluctantly goes to the door and opens it.
"What's happened here then?" he says. I can't believe James is dead. I'm just sitting on the floor in tears.

"She killed him," Miss Kate says, pointing at Mum.

"By the looks of it we know who we need to arrest. This young lady with the brown hair and the murderer."

"What I didn't do anything!" I protest.
"You were seen fighting with this woman I have to arrest you."

"No!" He wraps his hands tightly around my wrists and yanks my back.

"Wait!" Emily cries. The police officer ignores her as the other shoves Mum into the car. I just watch him slam the door and throws me into the car. We drive away and I just see Emily and Miss Kate looking through the window. I watch them get further and further away.

Emily's POV

"How long will Riley have to stay in prison for?" I ask.

"Hopefully before the baby is born."

"We need Riley back, she shouldn't have been arrested."

"I understand that but right now we need to sort out James." We walk out of the living room were James is.

"Wait..." Miss Kate says. She places her hand on James's chest,"He's alive!"

"Yes!"

"She only shot him in the arm, he's just lost a lot of blood Emily, call an ambulance." I can't believe James is alive! I run to the phone and dial 999.

Riley's POV

I sit in the car, staring at the ground. First Mum goes mental cos I'm pregnant, then James dies and then I have to go to prison, possibly giving birth there. I wish I could die right now, if James isn't alive, what's the point? I look over at Mum and she's holding something.

"What's that?" I ask. She doesn't reply but she sprays it at the police officers and they fall unconscious.

"Poison." She then climbs out the car and I start to follow.
"Wait," she says, looking at me seriously,"You didn't think that I was going to let you out too?"

"No..." She slams the door in my face, locks it and runs away. I rummage in around the car to try and find something. I didn't bring my phone but Mum did. I turn it on and as she didn't have a password I got straight in. I phone Emily. She declines it. She probably thinks that I'm actually Mum. I then get a text from her.

Emily-Mum what do you want?

Me-It's not Mum it's Riley

Emily-You're tricking me

Me-I'm not Mum poisoned the police officers and she locked me in the car and I'm stuck you have to help

Emily-Mum I'm not falling for your stupid games

Me-You have to help, Em please, whether you think it's me or not it's better taking a chance, for your little sister

Emily-I'm sorry

I'm literally in tears right now. But then an idea come to me-Mum doesn't know James number so if I rang James's phone they would know it was me.

Emily's POV

"There's an ambulance on the way!" I shout. I then hear phone go off. It's James's phone but it says the person ringing him is Mum. Mum doesn't even know his number. Maybe it was Riley. I answer it.

Me-Who is it?
Riley-It's Riley

It sounds like Riley despite it being hard to tell through the phone I know it's Riley.
Me-I'm coming

I end end the phone call and tell Miss Kate to get Riley.

When they come back I see Riley in tears. I give her a big hug as the ambulance comes.

"Can I come too?" Riley asks.
"Who are you?" the doctor asks.

"I'm his girlfriend." He nods and Riley walks out, holding James's hand.

Mr. Policeman(don't ask)

I wake up in the police car and I am really confused.
"Why are we here?" I ask.

"I think we were arresting that woman who kicked her kids out of her house."

"Was there anyone else?"

"I think there was another younger girl."

"Ummmm...no, you're probably getting mixed up."

"Yeah I probably am lets go."
