Too Far Out

Nathan's P.O.V.
When I walked into the room with our breakfast Sophie was sitting on the bed looking at her phone. I didn't know whether to interrupt her or leave her alone.

I knew the answer when I saw the tears fall. I called out to her but she couldn't hear me. Maybe she did but chose to ignore me. I don't know but what ever it was I couldn't get her to notice me.

After I called her name the second time she started to fall. Before she hit the floor I caught her.

"Mom! Mom! Come here! I need you!"

I could hear her footsteps rushing towards my door.

"Wha..."

"I need your help. I don't know what happened. She just fell."

"Lay her down on the bed."

Her phone fell out of her hands and underneath the bed. Once my mother was at her side I looked for it. It wasn't too far but far enough for me to have to get on my stomach.

Once I retrieved it I looked at it.

She was looking at his messages when she fell...

Once your mother is asleep. I'm going to tie you to your bed.

"What the hell? Who says things like this?"

My mom has left the room to get a cold cloth for Sophie and I'm sitting here on the floor, reading these messages.

"What's wrong?"

I look up to see my mom standing in the door. Staring right at me.

"Nothing."

I stand up and put her phone in my jeans pocket.

"What happened to her?"

"Nothing okay. It's nothing."

"Okay. Just thought I'd ask."

She walks over and kneels beside Sophie.

Sophie's P.O.V.
My head is throbbing when I wake up. I sit up and it only gets worse. Nobody's in the room with me. I get up and go to look for a washroom.

For a moment when I walk out of his room I'm blinded by all the white. I start to get dizzy and almost trip over my own feet until I catch myself. Straightening myself I look around and see a hallway leading somewhere. I decide to follow it and see if I can find anything there. Every door is closed and I don't want to open them. Instead I walk past them and try to trust my instincts. Halfway down the hallway I open a door on my left and am surprised when I find that I was correct.

"Awesome..."

And to no surprise, everything is white. I shut the door and look at myself in the mirror.

Halfway down the hallway? That's a weird place for a bathroom. Usually they're at the end or the beginning of the hallway.

Awe. My stomach is hurting. I didn't even eat breakfast and I don't know what time it is.

I look in the mirror again and put my hair up in a ponytail. I wash my face and stand there. Looking at myself in the mirror.

Why does he even like me? I'm not beautiful... Am I?

"Sophie? Are you in there?"

Shit.

I stay quiet and don't say anything until I hear him walk away.

If only he'd stayed... What am I talking about? Wait, I'm not even talking... I'm thinking.

I look at myself again and then open the door.

"How come you didn't answer me?"

"Shit."

He walks in blocking me from getting out. He shuts the door and leans against it with a smile on his face.

"You're not answering me again?"

"I... I uh. I was.."

"Don't worry. You can tell me..."

His voice goes deep as he says that and chills run down my spine. His eyes are dark as he looks at me.

I look at him finally understanding what he is trying to do. I smirk and say, "Maybe... If you'd have waited a little longer, I would've answered you properly."

I move towards him and bring his face to mine. Before I move in to kiss him I whisper in his ear, "Maybe, if you're lucky..."

He looks at me and smirks right back. I bring my hands to rest around his neck as his hands rest on my hips.

I kiss him and turn us so that my back is against the door. He smiles as we kiss not having the slightest idea of what I was going to do.

I bring one hand down and rest it on the doorknob as I bring his body closer to me, deepening the kiss.

This time it's my turn to smile as I push him off of me and open the door once again.

"Wha.."

"I didn't get my breakfast." I smirk and walk back down the hall.
