Chapter 7: Merida's Return

Merida POV

I found their island and docked, I knew they would be sleeping so I tried to not wake anyone, that was when I heard something crash and ran over to see what happened.

I saw Astrid throwing axes again and she was with a guy who had white hair. Next thing I knew Astrid had pinned me down and was aiming her axe at my neck again "what are you doing here?"

"Jus'wan'edtevisit" I said as quickly as I could. She scared me and she knew it

"Astrid, I don't think it's a good idea to attack people, especially if they are friends with Hiccup" the guy said calming her down.

"You're right Jack" Astrid moved and let me up. I introduced myself to Jack and he said he was going to get Hiccup.

I was alone in the woods with Astrid "so, nice island ye got here" I said trying to break the tension. She continued to ignore me "look I don't know why ye seem te dislike me so much but..."

Astrid turned around "look princess, I don't know how people take it on your island, but I don't particularly trust people who I only met because they tried to kill me"

She certainly could hold a grudge, that happened a few months ago. I could tell Astrid was irritated but I wasn't going to go just because she wanted me to.

"Just get over it already" I wasn't thinking and within seconds she had me pinned down again. Luckily for me Hiccup and Jack arrived and pulled her off me.

I saw an opportunity "wha' was tha' for?" I asked her. Jack took Astrid away to calm down leaving me alone with Hiccup.

Astrid POV

Jack asked what happened "that daughter of a half-troll-rat-eating-munge-bucket" I started ranting about how she was winding me up.

Jack sat me down and sighed "you really don't like her do you?" I knew I didn't need to answer. He made a small snowball "come on, let's have a bit of fun" he said handing me the snowball.

I threw the snowball and hit Jack right in the face "got ya Frost" I laughed before taking cover from a snowball he was throwing at me.

After a while of snowball fighting we stopped and I suggested we go for a fly "sounds fun, let's do it" he smiled.

I climbed onto Stormfly's back "Astrid!" I heard Hiccup yell to me.

"I'm only going flying I'll be back before the end of the day"

"Well, take this anyway, just in case" he said handing me his Inferno. I wasn't sure what he thought was going to happen "I made it for you the last time you went flying without me, don't want you going missing again"

I saw Merida behind him looking jealous so, naturally, I jumped down, grabbed his shirt, pulled him close and kissed him "I'll take it if it makes you feel better" I said hugging him.

He smiled and helped me back up, I didn't need the help but I could see it was irritating Merida so I went with it.

"I'll be back by the end of the day okay, promise" I said before taking off.
