Lost and Found

Chapter 13: Mother

Hiccup POV

I yelled trying to make the mysterious person turn back, Toothless would surely drown without me but whoever it was wouldn't listen. I was dropped off inside a cave where I used my sword to show the dragons they could trust me.

One of the other dragons came flying in and dropped Toothless right next to me. The mysterious person started coming closer but stopped "Hiccup, could it be, after all these years?" The person took of the mask revealing them to be a woman.

"Should I know you?"

"No, you were just a babe, but a mother never forgets" she paused "follow me" and she ran off.

I followed because I was curious, I had just found my mother, the one who everyone thought had been eaten by dragons.

We caught up on everything and went for a small fly where after my mom had done her bit of showing off she said that this was what it was to be a dragon

"it's all well and good to call yourself a dragon" I said putting Toothless' tail on gliding mode "but can you do this" I finished jumping off.

I plummeted for a few seconds before sliding my arms through the hoops and gliding along. I turned over so I was on my back but I couldn't see where my mom had gone, until she appeared next to me.

I rolled back over "not again" I saw a stack of rocks and I was heading straight for it "Toothless!" I called. He just about managed to catch me and we rolled in the snow, Toothless only opened his wings when we stopped but I wasn't in his paws. Mom walked up to me "all this time you took after me"

We had flown back and after trying to convince her to help me talk to Drago and failing I had decided to go on my own.

Dad refused to help as well which was why I had been flying on my own in the first place.

Someone grabbed me from behind covering my mouth "quiet Hiccup" my dad had found me.

"How did you get in here?" I wondered how he had found me

"the same way we're getting you out" he replied. It took a few seconds for it to sink in that he had said we' and while I thought about who he would have brought I remembered that Skullcrusher was a tracking dragon.

"All clear" but of course he brought Gobber along with him. As I was practically dragged along I tried to tell dad that mom was alive but as usual he wasn't listening.

Gobber had stopped in a doorway "you might want to take this one" he said clearly shocked. Dad got out his sword and started walking.

"would you mind putting that away?" I asked knowing what Gobber had seen.

It wasn't long before he saw mom, dropped his sword and taken off his breast helmet as I had been calling it since I found out it was made from half of mom's breast plate.

Dad was happy, I had never seen him this happy before. He started whistling a slow tune "oh I love this one" Gobber said smiling.

"Remember our song Val?" dad asked

"I'll swim and sail on savage seas,
with ne'er a fear of drowning,
and gladly ride the waves of life,
If you would marry me,
no scorching sun, nor freezing cold" dad started before being interrupted by Gobber

"will stop me on my jour" he sang quickly "ney, sorry" he finished after dad glared at him

Dad stood behind mom who had been getting water and continued "If you would promise me you heart, and love..." he prompted for mom to join in.

"And love me for eternity" she eventually joined in and they started dancing

"My dearest one, my darling dear,
your mighty words astound me,
but I've no need of mighty deeds when I feel your arms around me" the song carried on passing on from mom to dad and back again until the end of the song

"if you would marry me" and of course Gobber got carried away until I nudged him to stop.

Everything was great I finally had my mom back and I hadn't seen dad this happy, ever.
