Chapter 29

"Who names a bird Kevin?"
"You can not compare the name Kevin for a bird to the name Chocolate for a cat. That's just a terrible comparison all together." Louis countered with a shake to his head, his eyes gazing down at the yellow tinged water below. Mocking Lillian's black cat name.

The Sun wasn't set up as high as it had been earlier and was slowly falling in favor of the horizon.

Lillian and Louis came over their misunderstanding earlier and Louis had been completely compliant in favor of Lillian's bird gift. How touching it was, would probably remain a mystery because just as quickly as Louis's emotionless shield had been fitted down, it shot back up right façade Louis's true emotions as Harry joined the two.

Louis took her to his meeting place with some man. Lillian hadn't been allowed in the meeting room and she promised Louis she wouldn't leave after the captain appeared distressed when he learned that Lillian couldn't follow him in.

She kept her promise and occupied herself with playing with the nameless birdy until Louis came out and to her surprise; Louis had greeted her out with a quick hug that Lillian had been returned entirely out of instinct.
The two spent time shopping for clothes but Lillian realized that Louis's sense in clothing wasn't as pathetic as she'd thought he would be. They weren't as fancy but some skirts for her liking...
They made it back on the ship and after Lillian took a bath and changed her clothes into the cleaner more suiting wardrobe, she and Louis were just by the ship's wheel as they had been the night previous, talking.

It was relaxing in a way.
Louis snorted, "I didn't even think people named their kittens!"

"I named my kitty and his name was chocolate and don't you forget it." Lillian snapped out earning a brief chuckle from Louis, "Okay, okay. What should I name him then?"

Lillian blinked her eyes, her thoughts remembering the kitten that no doubt was sleeping on Lillian's bed back at the palace, "Why are you asking me? It's your bird."
"Because I care about what you have to say." Louis honestly replied causing Lillian to halt her movements.
It was as though she could feel Louis's eyes on her, analyzing every bit of her actions and it unsettled her a bit whenever Louis did this.
Say something that meant he cared and then stared at her with that intense gaze.
"Yeah, that's nice and all, but I got it for you. So you should name it." Lillian ran a hand through her brown hair while turning to the brunet confidently.

Louis nodded his head, "But when I suggest a name, you criticize me."
"Because the names you pick are ridiculous."
"So why don't you pick a name then?"
"Because it's your Bird."
"You're very difficult."

Lillian smiled sweetly, "Glad you know how being around you normally is."
"Touché." Louis shrugged off, "But in all honestly can I just give the thing a name without you complaining about it?"

His tone sounded tired and Lillian had to chuckle at the fact she'd managed to basically exhaust him out with her constant nitpicks at the attempts to name the bird, even though her own style of naming her pets back home had been ridiculed.
"Haha, yeah, name it whatever you want." Lillian commanded with a wave of her hand that made Louis roll his eyes, "Thank you, Your Highness. What would I ever have done without your royal blessings?" He sarcastically stated before Lillian narrowed her eyes at him.

"Okay, so I think I'll name the bird... Kevin. It looks like a Kevin." Louis settled on with a firm nod.
Lillian snorted but a warning finger was raised in her direction as Louis glared at her threateningly, "You gave me permission to name it without your complaining."
With a hand to her mouth, Lillian raised her hands up, "Oops. Just ignore me."
