Chapter 47

If one skip the fuss the maids made after Lillian got back to her room, it took 10 minutes for them to bring something for her to eat.

She was trying not to yell at anyone and don't push her orders but nothing used to be this messed up there and finally her nerves gave in. Everything just went black and she was drifted into a numb feeling.

She could no longer keep up to care what would others think of her. Weak? Prissy? None of that mattered, she missed her mother, her sister and above all that stupid boy who came crashing into her life.

Everything was slowly fading away and the comfort was something close to being in Louis' arms.

Small voices by her bed made her open her eyes for a brief second and the close them even tighter.

The mattresses and pillows felt too comfortable and she haven't felt so relaxed in so long, she was afraid if she opened her eyes all of that vanishes.

"Highness please wake up you have to eat something." One of the maids begged and continued," It's been two days please just name something and I'll bring it for you to eat."

Lillian tossed and turned to her other side. She wasn't in the mood to talk.

"Rosie please go after Sir Jeremiah, if the princess continues like this she sure will be sick."

The maids' worried voices made the royal feel slightly guilty but she didn't have it in herself to get up. Besides it wasn't like she hasn't survived starving before. Louis did a good job torturing her on that matter. A bitter smile formed on her face.

When she was falling sleep again the sound of the door opening woke her up again. She could hear the maid," Oh good sir we are so worried about her highness, look at how pale she is but we didn't call the doctor because we thought highness must be just exhausted but then she woke up today and she doesn't even seem hungry."

"Alight, Alright calm down, I'm here now and I'll talk to her, you three, go to the royal kitchen and bring the princess the most beautiful breakfast you can manage, more chocolate is what I suggest but you can ask the cook about it."

"But who is going to be at her majesty's service while —"

"Don't worry girls, I'll not leave before you come back. Go on now!"

The girls left the room with small happy cheers since they were able to make up to their mistress such bad start.

Lillian smiled as she felt Jeremy's hand on her shoulder. She took a deep breath and turned to him.

He smiled brightly and showed her his dimple," Good morning?"

"Morning..." She yawned," Sorry I kept you hanging yesterday."

"It was the day before yesterday but don't worry about it, I was informed after 30 minutes of waiting."

He sat by the edge of the bed and held her hand," Are you better now?"

"Much better, I hope what you wanted to tell me wasn't an emergency. I'm ready to hear it now."

Jeremy nodded his head and looked up," Tell me, what is your opinion about your father's war idea?"

She sat a bit up right and leaned to her pillows as she sat," So the word is out?" She shook her head," I'm afraid I did whatever I could to stop him but he seem to have decided. I still can't have him start a war like that and put more pressure on the people who are starving in the streets."
