Chapter 48

When Lillian was done, she opened the door and walked out. Her small figure was still shaking a bit and her dizziness was back.

Jeremy and the maids were looking at her with concern and Jeremy was quick enough to pick the girl, bridal style before she fell.

"Oh highness, what did I told you, you didn't eat until you got sick. Did you even get to eat anything decent in the past two month?" Rosie came forward and continued," I'm going after the royal doctor!"

Jeremy approved and put the princess on her bed," How about you start eating until she comes back with the doctor?"

She nodded and started eating with Jeremy's help even though she didn't feel like eating at all. She wanted to dismiss the maids and talk to Jeremy about their plans on how to save England.

After eating for a bit she had to run off and use the bathroom again. She clenched to her stomach as she tried to finish and her maid helped to wash her mouth and face.

They were just in the process of putting her to bed while the maid knocked and said the doctor wasn't there so she had to come back with his intern.

They asked her to keep him out until they helped the princess change her nigh gown with a warmer one and brushed her hair.

When the intern finally got to come in, they saw a very young boy, he seemed bright but far too ambitious and overweening. He bowed and asked for permission to check on the royal.

He asked if the princess had anything with cream or milk to eat and some other silly questions. Her answers were short and absolute and the doctor- to be suggested the princess wait out the breakfast time until her stomach gets settled and start with something light for dinner. His suggestion was that the princess's body wasn't used to being empty for that long.

At lunch time the princess ate her light food and was suddenly all better so she asked Jeremy to take her to the rose garden.

It felt nice there and they could talk without being disturbed.

The walk through the castle was the most painful one. It was becoming like a lifeless fortress.

In the rose garden Jeremy wrapped a warm shawl around the princess and they sat on a white bench to talk.

"You wanted to know how is it that I am here even though I am supposed to be dead to them and what did I tell them. Well long story short, I was ordered to be killed by the king, I found out about this when I overheard my "crew" talk about it one night. The crew was chosen by your father and we were send to Spain but in actuality it was a trap to get rid of me. Your father was apparently informed of our plans together and he didn't like it obviously."

Lillian remembered their plan well, they wanted to try and have a baby so her father couldn't stop them from being with each other because of ranks but it didn't work out.

"Anyway he wanted me out than having a grandchild of a less noble rank, lucky for me one of those men was a friend of my father's and he helped me, the rest is what I told you back in the ship and how I worked for those men and then the pirates to be able to travel and get to my uncle so I can make my way up again."

He sighed," When I asked my uncle to introduce me to the king again, it was the day the news of your disappearance got here, the king was, dare I say it, going insane and he told me if I find you, he'd give me anything I ask for. He wanted to pick me a crew but I told him that I'll pick my own. I knew once the king want someone out, the cycle of making it happen doesn't end so easily and I couldn't risk your life and die so easily."
