Chapter 52

Harry could hardly believe his eyes. In a few hours the marriage would be done and they could peacefully prepare to get a move on toward London.

Everyone seemed to be in a kind of a half run. Music and the candles all set and the food ready. And Harry wasn't going to let anything disturb his perfect plans, if anyone dared try he wouldn't live long enough to see the result of their attempt. Not when he was so close.

By the afternoon when the air seemed to carry a sweet yet slightly chilly breeze everything was ready.

Louis was standing ahead with Liam by his side and Harry was walking his sister up the rows to get married. This was better for everyone, especially for Louis. This could help him to get some peace after all.

The ceremony was taking place by the river of Dane, Harry himself had out done himself to get the priest from the chapel to come the distance.

The peaceful sound of the water was creating a good feeling until they heard disturbing noises of something coming toward them.

A man was approaching with the final speed his horse could muster. Harry knew it could be the news of the king leaving London and that was an excellent news but for now, he would rather the king just stay in his damn fortress for another half an hour.

Harry tried to ignore it. It was only a few steps till they reach the wedding officiant.

Gemma held Harry's arm tighter as a signal to walk just a bit faster. Louis and Liam as his best man were just a feet away now.

But just the moment they reached there and the officiant started to read from his bible, the ridder started shouting.

He was saying something that couldn't be heard fully but was disturbing the guests.

And finally when he was close enough they could all hear," Beware! French! French army at the frontiers! "

The moment there was the news that the king was getting the army ready to move, Lillian felt like she couldn't be happier. With her dad gone Jeremy could arrange her some men to go find Louis with her. Wherever he was, she now knew some places that might help her find him.

She could even go to that Captain Malik, he worked for Eliza recently or someone around that bar in Ireland.

It was definitely a start.

It was the second day since she was back in her room and she didn't know if it is safe to call out for Eliza. There also were no signs of Ashton whatsoever but for now she could just hope that her mother is alright.

She started to pack herself some suitcases for her journey ahead. Thank god for the chance she got... It was almost too good to be true.

However just an hour after the army did their final parade around London and were ready to depart a dreadful news got to the castle. The French has gotten the upper hand and had attacked them first.

Of course it didn't stop the army from leaving. In fact they left even sooner than they had planned to stop French from going too far inward.

Of course they had to design a whole different type of strategy according to the different circumstances but the first priority was to stop the French to get too close to the capital.

In such situation, Lilian was not able to leave the castle, not at least until her sister got back. There was no way in hell to leave the castle in any other hand than a royal family member. This was just so much more important than finding her child's father. If London was to go down because there was no leader in the castle, hundreds of people would die.
