Hey! I just want to thank you for reading my story, it means alot to me. This is my first story on Wattpad, so I'm not really used to the setting of this all.

Anyway, enjoy!

"Get up, we're going to be late!" my sister yelled at me as she stood in front of my bed. "There's cheer leading practice, and as the captain, I have to be there on time." she said, her hands planted on her hip.

I groaned as I looked up at my older sister, who was already dressed with her makeup on. She glowered at me through her eyeliner applied eyelashes. I rubbed my eyes and protested when Kelsey drew open the blinds. "Okay, okay, I'm up. Why do I have to come with you anyway?" I grumbled.

Kelsey's eyes narrowed as she jabbed a manicured finger in my face. " 10 minutes. After that, I'm leaving. With the car. Which means YOU walk to school." she hissed as she slammed the door.

I sighed as I stumbled out of bed and got ready. I brushed my hair and applied a thin layer of lip gloss before heading out the door. Deciding to miss breakfast I stopped outside the door and watched my breath mix with the chilly air, mesmerised.

That was, until a large honking broke me out of my day dream. Kelsey leaned out of our beat-up truck with a very pissed off expression on her face.

"I'm gonna be late you dork!" she sneered. "Just because you don't have a life doesn't mean I don't! Come on!"

I silently climbed into the front seat of the truck and put in my earphones. I was used to being treated like this. There was just something about Kelsey that was magnetic, everybody in the room would be instantly drawn to her like moths to a light. Everybody tended to ignore me because honestly, I just wasn't that attractive to everybody. Maybe I was just too shy, or maybe I wasn't pretty enough.

I didn't mind though. Although I didn't have lots of friends, the ones I have are worth a thousand of those followers Kelsey has as 'friends'. I could actually connect with them, something I could never seem to do with my family. They're just a bit too fake, too shallow. My friends actually accepted me for who I was and didn't try to make me into something I wasn't.

Kelsey parked in front of the football field and stalked out to join her friends, completely ignoring me as if I never existed. This was the unspoken rule between us. Her friends wouldn't know that her little sister was in fact the boring Grace Spencer, and my friends would have no idea that I was related to the snobby queen of Seamore High.

I got out of the door and climbed up the never ending rows of bleachers until I reached the top. I plonked down and did what I did every morning; do my homework, or if I'm lucky, read a book. It might have been geeky, but I loved reading. It was the one place where your dreams actually came true, where the hero actually gets the princess, where the spoilt prince sulked in the corner, where everything was actually fair. Because believe me, the real world is definitely not fair.

I got out the book I was currently reading, a book on Greek myths and legends. Although I'm normally more of the romance type, I just loved how Greek legends always seemed to have invented a whole civilisation and an entire new religion. Still, it is depressing that almost everybody dies.

I was reading one of my favourite tales of all time, the story of Cupid and Psyche. Basically, Cupid falls in love with Psyche, a girl he was ordered to kill. He takes her to his palace, where he tells her that she can never see what he looks like. When Psyche does find out, Cupid flies away and Aphrodite treats Psyche like a servant. She orders her to complete all these tasks and finally, Psyche fall into a deep sleep due to her opening this really strong perfume. Cupid wakes her up in the end, and they marry and have a child.
