Although in the last chapter I said this one would be in Grace's P.O.V, but it's actually going to be in Cameron's P.O.V. Sorry! It's just that lots of things are going to be happening in this chapter, and Cameron would be easier, since he already knows about all the werewolf stuff.

Luke hasn't found his mate yet, so that's why he is so interested in Grace. And yes, he does like Grace in case you haven't figured it out yet. The reason Cameron didn't really know Grace before is because they never really talked, but he did know her before.

Cameron

Jealousy is an ugly emotion. I know that. And it doesn't exactly help when you're trying to impress the girl you want to spend the rest of your life with. That's why I tried so hard to keep it under control as I watched Grace and Luke share a close conversation with each other when we stopped for a quick rest.

It didn't exactly work. No, scratch that, I completely, utterly, majorly failed to achieve my goal.

Grace was listening intently to what Luke was saying. I seemed unable to tear my eyes away from the intimacy of the whole thing. At one point of the conversation, Grace laughed cutely at something Luke said, and I felt my fists clench. That bastard. It should've been me who was making her smile like that. Not him.

Despite mostly hating him, I felt a wave of resentment wash over me as well. Why wasn't she like that with me? What did he have that I didn't?

A frantic voice brought me back to the real world. "Boss! Cameron! Bad news!" an exhausted Joey called out. He was sprinting towards me and stopped abruptly. Obviously something major had happened; Joey was all red in the face and puffing with a very worried expression. I was immediately on guard. Joey was never serious unless the situation started to get really messy. As my role of the Alpha, it was my job to make sure everybody was safe.

"Joey, Joey. Calm down." I ordered. "What's wrong?". He took a minute to catch his breath. He seemed to have gathered his composure by the time he was ready to speak. The look of fear was still clearly written across his face.

"I-it's the rogues. We met the, when we were looking around the area. There were around 10 of them, and out of nowhere and attacked us." he babbled in a stream of words. "We did the best we could but they overwhelmed us. The leader told us to tell you that they're coming." Joey finished, waiting for my reaction.

A cold feeling of foreboding settled like a stone in the pit of my stomach. Rogues were bad trouble for any pack. After all, their own had cast them out. They generally only picked on a group they with which they felt like they had a good chance of taking over. Rogues has stopped bothering us years ago. We had no secret that made us seem particularly weak. Did we?

Focus. Now is not the time to be panicking over unimportant details. We need to know exactly what happened and what they want with us. My wolf reasoned logically. He was right, of course. I had to be strong, for everyone.

By now, Grace and Luke had joined us to see what all the commotion was about. My mate was looking at with concern in her eyes, but avoided my eye contact. I refused to acknowledge the frustration I felt. There were more serious things at hand.

"Where's Joe?" I asked, realizing that he wasn't there with us. You so rarely saw the twins without one another that it was strange and almost like they were missing parts of their body. Normally, they were joined at the hip. Joey paled visibly and swallowed hard.

He looked more distressed than I'd ever seen him, more than the time when we were nine and he knocked over Aunt Diana's favourite vase. And that earned him spankings so hard that he couldn't sit down properly for a week.
