I've finally reached 10 chapter! Thank you to everybody who has voted and supported me along the way and to all people who commented. This would not have been possible without you all!

The weekend has finally ended, and now everybody is going back to school. This chapter is hopefully going to have more drama than the previous one.

Cameron

Parking my car in the student lot, I walked casually across with my schoolbag slung over one shoulder. The weekend had been the most eventful in a long time. After all, we had scented rogues in the forest. That definitely didn't happen everyday.

Not to mention the fact that Grace had stayed over the whole time. That had been the highlight of the week. No, of the month. Having her there for only two days exceeded everything I had held in value previously.

Imagine what it would be when we would wake up and see her sleeping face next to us every day. My wolf purred inside me. I agreed, I couldn't wait until she was finally mine.

I had nearly made it to my first class when a bunch of demanding brats that were probably in my pack suddenly bombarded me with questions.

"It is true that Grace is your mate?!"

"Did she really stay over at your house?!"

"Is she going to be our Luna?!"

I snapped at that last remark which was laced with disgust. Nobody talked about her like that!

"Now listen to me!" I growled menacingly. The trio of girls slowly took a step back. My Alpha qualities were beginning to show through, something that was unusual although not unwelcoming. "Grace is my mate and you will not treat your future Luna in that manner. Do you understand?" I made sure they heard every word loud and clear.

All of them nodded like scared children being scolded by their mother before one blurted out, "But she's a human!".

The wolf inside me scoffed. Was she actually serious?

"So?" I asked mockingly. "You will treat her with respect either way. Got it?" I made sure they completely got the message before I watched them scurry away like mice, no doubt going away to spread vile gossip. I had suspicions that Kelsey had sent them, but I couldn't actually communicate with her - she wasn't part of my pack.

Although I couldn't really do anything to her, Kelsey could still order people around. If she came whining to Alpha Brent, that would be the end of the fragile truce. And I was going to be blamed. Those girls had probably obeyed Kelsey out of fear and her status. Damn.

I headed towards class just as the bell rang, wondering what was wrong with teenage girls these days. Well, all teenage girls apart from Grace. She was fine.

No. My wolf disagreed. She was perfect.

That thought was one of the few times the my inner-self actually showed a bit of wisdom. He was entirely right.

  Grace was perfect.

--------------------------------

By the time lunch had rolled round, I was fed up and more than a little annoyed with the whole ordeal. Throughout the day people kept coming up to me to pester me with their irritating questions and making me confirm the truth over and over again. I must've said the same thing more than a hundred times.

Not only did they interrogate me endlessly, somebody had also managed to spread ridiculous rumours in about us in such a short time. They ranged from me saying Grace is my mate to escape forced marriage to Grace wanting attention from her family. One absurd idiot even suggested that Grace was pregnant from a one night stand. Let's just say that was a very bad week for him.

How do these people even come up with ideas like this? My wolf demanded incredulously. Once again, I thought the same thing. Today was one of the times he could be considered as smart.

Or maybe I'm mostly right, but you just don't want to admit it. He whispered. I ignored the last comment.

I spotted Grace waiting in line for our slightly suspicious cafeteria food and felt a boost of energy at the sight of her. The addicting smell of cinnamon that could have only from Grace was already wafting in the air, tempting me wickedly. My wolf shifted impatiently, anxious to reach our mate as soon as possible.

I deliberately made sure I seemed nonchalant as I slid in the queue. The line parted immediately. Since most of the students here were wolves, they all knew who I was. Being famous did have its benefits.

"Hey," I drew out slowly, enjoying the impact I had on her. Grace's cheeks turned that adorable shade of pink and her eyes quickly darted around the room, refusing to make eye contact with me.

"What did you say to them?" she asked softly.

"What did I say to who?" I questioned, even though I knew what she was talking about. Grace rolled her eyes in exasperation.

  "What did you tell everybody?"

I made sure I smirked affectionately before I answered. This only made the frown on her face deepen.

"I only told everybody the truth, princess. That we're mates, and that you're destined to be mine."

Grace's cheeks flamed even brighter and she bit her lip worriedly. "Why did you say that?" This question baffled me.

  "Why not?"

"Because everybody will talk about it!" she hissed.

  "What's so bad about that?"

She glared at me, and I felt even more bewildered. What was she afraid of?

"I don't want to be gossiped about! It might not bother you, but having a good reputation matters to me!" Grace forced her words out, clearly pronouncing each word. Picking up her tray, she
moved in line as the lunch lady dumped something indescribable on it.

"So? They'll get over it soon,"

She looked up at the sky in disbelief, as if what I had said only proved a point. "'That's easy for you to say, you're the Alpha's son, the star quarterback, the most popular guy in school. You can live it down, but me? I'm forever going to be the crazy girl who claimed to be Cameron's mate!"

"But you are my mate. Can't you feel it?" I whispered.

Grace looked away for a moment. " I can't talk about this right now. And I've got to get back to my friends."

"You can sit with me. My friends won't bite." I pleaded, almost on the verge of being desperate. I wanted to spend more time with her and besides, she was going to have to meet them sooner or later.

She chewed on her lip, debating about her decision. But before I could get an answer, two people suddenly flanked her in either side. Luke and... wait, was that Julie?! She was part of my pack, and a good friend of our family. Dad had tried to pair us together. It didn't work out, but we've remained friends. She was Grace's best friend?

"Is everything alright here?" Luke asked, staring coldly at me. The wolf inside me snarled at his obvious dismissal at his Alpha.

Grace looked from one person to the other. She finally settled her gaze on me. "I guess I should probably get going. See you later, Cameron."

I wanted to tear my hair out of frustration! "We're not finished, princess." I promised. Grace blushed and turned her back to me. Already, she was walking away. Would it always be like this?

Luke placed his hand on Grace's back, and I wanted to tear it right out of its socket. Julie shot me an apologetic, but followed as well. I had no choice but to watch them leave.

We're meant to be together. Why can't she see it?

Hope you liked this chapter! I hope I didn't portray Grace as a very cold person, she does like Cameron, but its complicated. All will be revealed in the next chapter, and Kelsey will appear, so look out for it!
