Some people might not have noticed, but for those of you who have, I've deleted the cast for this story. This is because I don't want to specify what the characters should look like, you can decide for yourself.
Also, people have said how they really like the cover. This was made by JoyceTheBookworm, and if you ask her, I'm sure she'll make one for your story too.
This chapter is dedicated to Sunnycanary62 for her supportive comments and also other reasons (nudge nudge). If you like reading Hunger Gams fanfic, you should definitely check out her story Daughter of Fire.Sorry of the long A/N, here's the chapter!

Grace
I stood there uncomfortably in the corner of the hall as people shuffled past me, shooting me mixed looks of venom and curiosity. After that disastrous pack meeting, I had been crowned with a new title. I think I preferred being known as the weird human daughter rather than the disgraceful secret mate.
After Cameron's shocking confession people were in a frenzy. They weren't sure if he was lying to get out of being mated by force or whether he was telling the truth. I did not want to be in his shoes at that moment. Judging from the women's expressions, that was enough gossip to last them the rest of the year.
Mum was frantic over what had happened. She bombarded me with question; asking why I didn't tell her sooner and if I was absolutely sure about what I said. She kept on wringing her hands nervously and murmuring to herself about how this whole thing could happen.
Her friends all shot me disapproving glances, letting out snide remarks on how I was just jealous. "I always knew there was something wrong with her. She was always the troublemaker. Could never compare to Kelsey." one muttered not-so-discreetly to another, who nodded in agreement.
"Is she happy now that things turned out the way she wanted? Shame on her, ruining the mating ceremony!" the other hissed back spitefully. They turned in my direction and glared at me like if I was muck at the bottom of their shoes.
Oh please! Like I meant for that to happen! I didn't know what a mate was, and I didn't have enough brains to stage this whole thing! As offended as I was, a little part of me was impressed that they thought that highly of me. Looks like they overestimated my character.
Still, I looked away from them and gritted my teeth, reminding myself that it was not the best time to slap somebody in the face no matter how much they deserved it. After being treated like this for years, I learnt that fighting back straight away only caused more negative rumors and pressure. So nowadays, I held back until it was starting to get ridiculous.
They gradually left as well. Soon, it was only my family and Cameron's. He had a little brother and sister. I had seen then before when they stood alongside Cameron at the door. I looked at them closely. They had the same striking features; the startling green eyes, tan skin and golden hair. In fact, their whole family seemed ridiculously good looking.
I was broken out of my close inspection when a round shape blocked my view. My dad. He was rubbing his hands together, a sign that he was extremely uneasy. I wonder why?! Maybe because he now had to deal with two extremely angry teenage daughters!
"Uh, Gracie..." he began, only to lose his nerve and drop off. He started again. "Gracie, your mother and I had talked about this with the Woods family, and we have decided it would be best for you to stay over for the weekend. You will go to school with them, and when school ends we will take you home." he finally burst out.
Was he joking? He must be, because there is no way I would stay over at Cameron's house after everything that had happened! "You're yjust gonna leave me here? What about my clothes? Where will I sleep?" I demanded while my dad slowly backed away.
"It's for the best..." he called over his shoulder as he broke into a run and soon disappeared. I watched his vanishing figure with trepidation mixed strongly with rage. Where was your family when you needed them?!

"And this is where we live!" Cameron's mum, chirped happily as we stood outside the huge mansion also known as ' Woods' Manor'. I looked at the buildings that towered above us in awe. It looked exactly like a castle that was drawn straight out of a movie, the ones billionaires live in. How come our family wasn't that rich?
Cameron had introduced me to his mother, who insisted I call her Dara, as well as his dad, who shook hands with me firmly and said "It's a pleasure for you to be here with us." Liam was friendly and outgoing, while Clair hid behind Cameron and stared up at me with rounded eyes. In short, they were the kind of family I wished I had, but didn't.
Don't get me wrong, my family wasn't bad, but I wished my family was more connected. I didn't have any younger siblings who I could look after, and Kelsey basically ignored at all times.
