I grabbed one end of the banner as Jim grabbed the other. I stood on a chair and stuck it to the wall as Jim reached up. Zoe was on her way back home after college and we decided to throw her a party. Alfie ran around trying to make everything perfect for his girlfriend as Tanya sat the cake her and Marcus had made on the kitchen table. I held up my hand for a high five from Jim but he walked off to see what Tan was doing. I sighed and looked around the room to see Caspar playing a game of Fifa.
"Hey Caspar!" I exclaimed, walking over as he paused the game and looked at me.
"What Joe?" He seemed confused and I sat down beside him.
"Wasn't your job to stand guard for Zoe's ugly ass car?"
Caspar's eyes opened wide as he threw the controller beside him. I couldn't help but laugh at the boy as he stuck his face to the window. I saw Nala, Zoe and Alfie's pug, and picked her up and sat her in my lap.
"SHE'S HERE! GUYS SHE JUST PULLED IN!" Caspar was screaming as her pulled the curtains closed and turned of the lights.
"This isn't a surprise party Casp." Marcus laughed as he switched the lights back on and stood under the banner. I walked over with Nala in my arms. That way she couldn't lick Zoe's toes. It's so annoying.
We heard Zoe curse under her breath as she fumbled with the keys. She's still a moron even if she got top of the class. She pulled the door open and we all ran up to give her a hug. As everyone pushed past me I felt ashamed. I should've pushed back, she's my sister. I probably missed her most. Once everyone backed off I got my hug from my sister.
"I have a surprise for you guys to!" Zoe exclaimed as I wad once again pushed out of the way. I stood on my tip toes and saw the back of Jim's head. I sighed and took Nala the couch. She seemed excited to see Zoe too but, I'm glad she stuff with me.
"The suspence is killing me come on speak up!" Marcus pressed her and Zoe's smile only got bigger.
"I'm taking all of you on Holiday!" As everyone rushed there goodbye's sadness settled like a cloud above me. Not another holiday with all of Zoe's friends. I don't know if I can go through that hell all over again.
"Where are we going babe?" Alfie asked, wrapping his arm around Zoe.
"Back to where Joe and I grew up. You've never been and it's been such a long time. Has it not Joe?"
I was snapped out of my horrible memories and nodded at my sister. This is really going to suck. Might as well go pack because there is no way I'm getting out of this. I've tried before and Zoe cried and begged and even got Alfie after me until I said yes to her.
