I opened the door and walked inside. I seemed to forget Caspar's name as he stared at me and smiled.
"What's up Joe? You look awfully pale Sugg." Caspar stood up as I took a deep breath.
"I really need to ask you something." I mumbled, looking up at the taller boy.
"Okay, the answer is yes." Caspar replied as I perked up a bit.
"Really?" I asked, feeling kind of stupid.
"Depending on the question, yes." Caspar laughed, shoving his hands in his pockets.
"I was just wondering.." I sighed, trying to tell him.
"Spit it out. I'm not going to hate you." Caspar, pulled his hands out of his pockets and grabbed mine, making some of the nerves go away.
"Will you be my boyfriend?" I asked, goosebumps appearing on my arms.
Caspar looked at me confused and my hope seemed to slowly fade away.
"No." Caspar stated as tears filled my eyes. I ran away from him and just cried. I sat down on the couch and put my head in my hands. I heard Caspar's voice asking me what was wrong. I didn't want to hear from him. I shouldn't have asked at all. I stood up, gave him the middle finger and went out to the back porch.
"Have you seen Joe?" I heard Marcus ask Caspar. I didn't want to talk to him either. I stood up and walked towards the garden. I tripped over myself and I just laid face first in the grass and cried.
"Joe are you okay?" I heard Marcus ask as he put a hand on my back. I chose to ignore him until he ran off.
I thought Caspar was going to say yes. That's all I wanted. Maybe Marcus will be my first everything. Besides kiss that is. He was second on that one. I just wished Caspar would've said yes. Now the boy I like will end up in someone else's arm and get someone else's kisses. I'm so jealous of that person. I want Caspar's kisses without forcing him to kiss me. I sat up and rubbed my eyes.
Zoe was running over to me and I just began to sob. She wrapped her arms around me as I tried to stop myself. I'm such a baby. I can't believe I'm having this reaction over Caspar. That's so funny. I forced myself to stop crying and remembered he's just a boy and if he didn't like me that was fine.
"Joe what's the matter?" Zoe asked, grabbing my hands.
"I asked Caspar to be my boyfriend and I bet you know what he said." I mumbled, the tears getting harder to hold back. Then, Zoe started laughing.
"What?" I asked, rubbing my eyes.
"Casp thought you asked if he'd be your bubbleboy. No wonder I was so confused. Your nerves must've messed the way it came out. It's alright Joe. Caspar loves you. Go ask him again. I'm sure he'll say yes. I'll be right there with you." Zoe smiled, standing up and reaching a hand out. I grabbed it and she pulled me off the ground.
"Let's go." I mumbled as Zoe began walking.
"Hey Joe. What happened? I was so scared." Caspar explained, pulling me into a hug.
"I'm going to ask you again." I sighed as Zoe put a hand on my back. Caspar's eyes seemed to dart from me to hear.
"I told you no, okay?" Caspar snapped. He seemed to be looking at Zoe when he said it. He hurried up the stairs and I sighed.
"Maybe I put pressure on him to say yes?" Zoe sighed, confused as I held back even more tears. I was completely and utterly love struck and heartbroken.
"I'll go try when it's just the two of us." I mumbled, going up the stairs.
I knocked on his bedroom and heard him pacing.
"Who's there?" he asked.
"Joe, just me." I answered as Caspar pulled the door open.
He grabbed my arm and pulled me inside.
"What'd you wanna ask?" Caspar asked, peeking out the door.
"Boyfriend. Will you be my boyfriend?" I asked, hoping he'd understand. As a huge smile crossed across Caspar's face, I yawned and laid down on his bed.
"Yes. I'll always be there for you. This was far from classic." Caspar laughed, laying down beside me. He pulled me closer to him and wrapped his arm around his waist. As I heard his soft snores I smiled.
"If you can't have the courage to yes when Zoe's around that's fine."
