That's all I ever hear when I am at work, the clicking of the keys on the keyboard as I type out numerous papers and articles.
I need a change in my life.
I need to do something new and exciting.
'Hey you almost done everyone's leaving?' My best friend and co-worker asked as she got her stuff ready to leave.
'I just have one last page to do I'll catch up with you later Val.' I said looking up from my screen for a second to smile at her before going back to typing.
'Okay well good luck and see ya later.'
'Bye.' I said as she walked into the elevator.
I finally finished about an hour later and saved everything in my computer in a new folder.
I gathered my things and walked to the elevator pushing the down button to the parking garage.
As the elevator dinged and opened I walked onto the cold concrete. There was no one left in the garage which is normal since I usually stay after so long.
I walked to my car but I couldn't help but feel someone watching me.
I looked behind me but there was no one there.
I sped up a little making my shoes clack on the concrete harder.
I still felt that feeling.
I just needed to get to my car.
I could hear in the distance rough hard steps being taken.
They were speeding up with each step I took.
God why did I park so far?
I walked faster.
The steps behind me sped up.
Heart racing.
The steps got louder.
Sweat forming.
I could feel someone's presence behind me.
The echo of the steps were almsot deafening in the garage.
I can see my car coming closer and closer.
I'm almsot there.
I finally made it to my car and swung my door open sitting in the seat immediately locking the door.
I looked around the parking garage and there was no one insight.
I started my car and drove off into the night calming down just wanting to get into the comfort of my warm sheets.
---
I woke the next morning still feeling a little anxious. Yesterday's events in the parking garage kept me up all night tosing and turning.
Luckily I had the next week off so I can relax and actually enjoy myself.
I got up off my bed and walked into the kitchen to boil me some water for some tea and I decided I'd make myself some eggs and bacon.
I got out the necessary stuff and cracked the eggs in the pan and put some bacon in another.
The sizzling sound of the bacon and the smell of the various spices and seasonings in my eggs filled my home making me feel a little better.
