Shaé wrapped her arms around me as we watched Luciana fly off into darkness. We knew she'd be back, but I knew it would take a while. "What did you call her?!" Xavier roared at Abney. Her frame shook with the force of his voice. "Xavier. Not now. Can't you see she is in turmoil?" Cassidy answered, glaring at him. But Abney spoke up. "I had heard legends of how a female dragon was crowned Luna at birth because of the appearance of her eyes. Like an explosion of stars over an eclipse..." her voice trailed off, leaving us in silence.

"Raven. Shall we tell her?" Shaé whispered into my ear. I nodded my head and walked back the way we came. The gang followed in my footsteps. "When Luciana turned 17, a new enemy rose. They were called the Black Guard, because where they went, darkness followed..." I sat down on our outdoor love seat and Shaé draped herself over me. I pressed on. "They killed supernaturals left and right, often slaying whole towns of us in bitter spite. But the Dragons kept to themselves, seclusion had kept them alive for thousands of years. No one knew of their specie, until one male dragon betrayed them all in hopes of gaining fame and power. All he gained was a wall his hide was hung upon." my voice was somber.

Abney sat in front of me, listening intently, her gaze made of steel. "Soon there after, the Black Guard went and sought out Dragon villages, slaughtering them all, using their hides to decorate house interiors." I looked down and a tear slid down my face. It had all happened while some of us were still in high-school. My Dragon...

"Luciana's town was the last to be raided... Her father was the chief of the town... Both of them were killed in front of her eyes. In some or other way, she escaped... But was cursed to be the last of her kind." my tears now fell freely. All our bonds grew so deep we felt each other's pain. But Luciana's was the most suffocating of us all.

"To this day she blames herself for not being strong enough to defend them. To save her people. That is why she exposed all supernaturals, United us, made us what we are today, so that no man slaughters our kind again for fun." my voice was hoarse and raw with hate. Shaé made me look into her eyes and all I could see was love. She kissed my lips and I felt a calm crash onto my soul that only my lovers could give me.

"It is all right now, little one. Our Dragon will be fine. She is strong, no?" Adrian added. Finally I looked up and I saw Abney also had fresh trails of tears down her cheeks. "I am ready." she whispered. "To do what?" Cassidy asked. "To help Luciana put an end to my father and all his wrongs." she announced, her voice thick with emotion.

And suddenly, pride washed over me.
