"But Mom I want to have dinner with dad." Ace half cryingly said to me.
I could not resist his request. I dialed the number of his dad.
"Hello?" The other line answered.
"Oppa? Are you coming home tonight? Little Ace wants to see you." I replied.
"Ok. I'll come home for dinner. I'll bring some cakes for dessert." He replied.
"Daddy I want chicken!!" Ace shouted to his dad.
"Of course I won't forget the chicken for my little Ace." He said to the little guy.
"Don't you have anything to do Henry?" I asked.
"Don't worry Amber, You know I can't resist Ace." He answered then the line went dead.
It's been five years, five years since I left Korea. Five years since I left him. But I'm happy now knowing that he became a successful artist just like what he dreamt of.
How are you now Kris?
Do you still know me?
"Mom!! Korea!!"
I was awakened from my thoughts when Ace shouted pointing hus finger
into the television.
"What is it baby?" I asked.
"Korea. Dad!!" He answered.
I was taken aback. I am already expecting for this day to come, but not this soon. I stared at my child with pity.
"Mommy, Daddy, Korea!" He shouted again.
My heart begins to shatter as I heard my child asking for his father. His true father.
Kris.
I stood there frozen. Thinking of how am I suppose to say it to my son. How should I explain this whole situation on a four-year old child?
Kris, is it time?
Finally, Ace grabbed my hand and lead me towards the living room. When I saw the news on the television, my eyes starts to get blurry.
"Wu Yi Fan also known as Kris of EXO announced that he will be leaving his company SM Entertainment due to unfair treatment between the chinese and the korean members."
"He's leaving." I said in almost a whisper.
"Mom, is my Dad in Korea?" My little angel said looking at me with his innocent eyes.
I stared at him for a long time.
Yes baby. Appa's in Korea but he's leaving.
No. I can't say that to my child. I don't want him to be hurt. I will keep him safe as long as I can. And that means, until I die.
*Ding dong*
"Oh!! Appa!!" Ace ran towards the door eagirly as he tries to reach the lock of our door which is way to high for him to reach.
I quickly grabbed him and carried him as I opened the door. A smiling chinese man with his red coat and his blond hair appeared. Henry.
"Ace!!" He said and grabbed Ace out of my hand.
"Appa!!" Ace replied with a hug.
"Appy, did you bring chicken?" He asked.
"Yes baby, Appa brought chicken." He calmly replied to my little guy.
"Yey!!! Favorite!!!!" Ace said as Henry carried him towards our dining hall.
I followed them and prepaired the dining table as they begin to play like little children running and tickling each other.
"Stop that, dinner's ready!!" I shouted and they began to race towards the dining area.
*At the dining hall*
"Amber, have you heard the news?" Henry asked.
"Kris is going back to China and pursue his career there." Henry answered.
"What? Oh, I don't know about that. But why would he quit Exo?" Amber asked lying that she still doesn't know.
"I don't know. Maybe SM did not treat him well." Henry answered.
Amber just shrugged. She doesn't want Henry to find out that she is still concerned about Kris. They just continued eating and eventually changed the topic.
After they finished dinner, Henry has to go back to his office to finish his work and bid goodbye to them.
On the other hand, Amber was busy washing the dishes when she heard a knock at the door. She hurriedly walked towards it expecting it will be Henry but to her surprise, it was not.
