Amber was busy washing the dishes when she heard a knock on the door.
"Mommy!! Someone's at the door." Ace shouted from the living room.
"Yes. Can you get it honey? It must be your dad. He must've forgot something." Amber instructed her son.
Ace then opened the door but instead of seeing his daddy, he saw a very tall figure smiling down to him.
"Who are you mister? What can I do for you?" Ace asked the man.
The man just stared at the little boy in front of him. Getting impatient and a little bit scared, Ace shouted for her mother.
"Mommy!!! This is not dad!" Ace shouted.
"Who was it babe? Is it Mr. Brown?" Amber asked again.
"I don't know him. You should come here!" The little boy shouted at his mom.
"Ok! I'm coming!!" Amber amswered to her child.
As soon as Amber arrived to where Ace is, the unknown man disappeared. Curious, she asked her child,
"Where did the man go?"
"I don't know mom but he said I should give you this letter." Ace said while handing a big brown envelope to Amber. Amber closed the door behind her and opened the envelope.
Happiness was written all over her face the moment she started reading the letter.
Greetings Ms. Liu!
We are pleased to inform you that you have passed the final interview for the secretarial position. Mr. Lu is expecting to see you on Monday, 8 am at his office to discuss the matters regarding your work.

Amber jumped for joy. She hurriedly ran towards Ace and hugged him.
"Pack your bags baby. We are going to China!!" She said to the little guy.
The latter stared at her, having no idea what his mother talking about. Finally as he saw Amber beginning to calm. He asked her a question which made the woman burst into laughter.
"Mom, what is China?"

"Passenger for Air Asia Flight 11772 heading for Beijing, China is now boarding on gate 3."
-flashback-
The first thing I realized when I knew that I was accepted on my application for work in China was how stupid I am. I didn't think about him now being in China too.
"So, what are you going to do if you see Kris there?" Henry asked me.
"I don't know. Ignore him maybe? Well, China is a big country and Kris is a very busy person. We have like 10% of chance seeing each other. So, don't worry." I answered. But deep in my mind I was thinking a lot of things and I am very nervous to how will it be if I see him again for a long time?
-End of Flashback-
"Let's go Ace!! China is waiting." I hold my son's little hands as we walk towards the gate towards the new beginning for Ace and me, only us. I could already smell the opportunities serve for me in China. From now on, I will be an independent woman and a mother for my son.

"Baby, wake up. We're here." I awakened Ace. As he slowly opened his eyes and rub it, I smiled. Realizing how handsome and adorable my son is and how lucky I am to have him. I may have lost Kris but God has given me an angel.
"Come on mom! China is waiting." She pulled my hand to exit the taxi. We will live in an apartment provided by the company for now because I have planned that I will buy a house here someday.
As we entered the apartment, I put all our baggage into our suppose to be bedroom and immediately laid down on the soft bed. My son, although seemed to be excited, jumped also on the bed and quickly fell asleep. Watching every detail of his face and how much he resembled his father sleep invaded me.
I woke up to the sound of our doorbell. I hurriedly ran towards the door and opened it, to see a man with a feminine vibe to his look smiling at me like an idiot.
"Ahmm.. Hi! What brings you here mister?" I asked.
"Oh! You can speak english!! Finally a neighbor I can talk to. Hi! I'm Ren and I am here to give these basket of fruits as a welcome gift. Ahmm.. By the way my room is at 304, in case you needed help just knock." And with that he smiled almost looking like a cat.
"Thanks!! Well, I'm so sorry. The only thing I can offer now is coffee and some buscuits I brought from LA." I said as I signalled him to enter our unit. He entered and I let him sit on one of our sofa and opened the television for him to be entertained in such a way.
I heared a door opening. It must be Ace, he was maybe awakened by the noise of the television.
"Mommy!!! Where are you??" He shouted.
"I'm in the kitchen babe. Can you come here?" I replied.
He then approached me with a hug.
"Who is that man?" He asked.
"He is Uncle Ren, our neighbor." I answered as I put a cup of coffee on a tray with a plate full of buscuits then slowly headed towards our living room.
"Here you go." I said as I placed the cup of coffee in the table.
"Is he your son?" He asked.
"Yes. He's name is Ace." I answered.
"So, where is your husband? Is he at work? I'm really sorry to interrupt you, I shouldn't have come inside." He apologized.
"I'm a single mom." I replied shortly with a smile.
"It must be tough." He said.
"Well, it was tough especially when you're having pains and cramps but it was all worth it because of this little angel." I said as I hugged Ace who is munching a biscuit tightly.
"I see. So, how did you manage it?" He asked.
"I don't know. I love him very much maybe that's why I did not notice the pains and struggles I've been to." I answered.
Then the night went on. Full of talks and getting to know each other. I learned that Ren is an architect and he himself designed this whole building we are living. As a result, he ordered some dinner and pizza because he is lazy to go to his unit and eat. The best part was, it was all his treat. I knew from that moment, I have a friend I can count on to.
