"Ace that's enough. Let's go home." I heard Amber sternly commanded Ace.

"Mom. I want to spend my birthday with dad." Ace answered.

It's his birthday. My son's birthday.

"Amber, it's his birthday today. Let's just talk about serious matters next time. He needs to enjoy his first birthday with his real father." I calmly said.

"No. We can't do that. We cannot enjoy spending his birthday with you. The media is everywhere. My son. . "

"OUR son." I cut her off

"Is not ready for those issues. I want him to grow up peacefully like a normal child does." Amber continued.

"Ok. I'll book a flight for us to Maldives this weekend." I said.

"What about my work?" She asked.

"Lu han will understand. If not, then resign." I answered.

"No. I can't do that. I want to work." She replied.

"Ok. I'll just ask Luhan to let you off this weekend." I negotiated.

"We just came here for you to meet Ace not to be his father. We can manage on our own. Thanks for your concern." Amber replied grabbing Ace's hand out of the restaurant.

I followed them and entered the car.

"You're not going to take my son away from me again, will you?" I asked while letting her face me. I looked at Ace who was about to cry seeing us fight.

"He's you're son but you're not a family anymore. Only your blood is running into his veins!!" She replied shouting.

"What??!! Are you insane??? I'm his dad and I have all the rights to be with him even if it will cost me everything!!" I answered.

"No Kris. You're happy now. I just want Ace to meet you. You can just forget about this. Forget that you've met him. Just live your life the way you do." This time she replied calmly with his head down.

"Live my life the way I do?? You mean, you want me to stay in hell everyday trying to smile even though it's hurting inside?" I replied and this time I know my tears are visible.

She did not budge and just turned on the engine. She drove towards the apartment and silently exited the car with Ace.

"So, this is how it's going to end huh?! Ok if this is the way you want it to be. Then, let our lawyers settle this legally." I warned.

She turned to look at me and then continued walk away with Ace on her arms crying.

I looked at my son's swollen eyes and I can't deny that I am also pained seeing him suffering because of his parents.

Ace took a peek on me and smiled forcibly.

I'll come back son. I promise, I'll make our family together again no matter what.

I entered on the other entrance to avoid  making any issues. Amber's right. I won't let my child be in harm because of me. I'll make his life private and normal. Just as how it used to be.

I pressed the number of my lawyer and asked him for an appointment.

This time I will never  let you go. . .
