Chapter Two - Arrival 

Athena's POV

Here I am standing in the airport bathroom, I haven't checked in yet; I'm still an hour away from check in time. Why the bathroom, we'll I'm here trying to cover up the bruises on my face and the black eyes my father gave me. After a while, I did manage to cover the bruises but the black eyes I couldn't it all. 

I opened my duffle bag and picked a new hoodie and sweat pants and just clothes that would cover my whole body, I let my long brown hair out and let it cover my face to add that extra coverage; before I left home, I managed to grab whatever was left of my mothers to bring with me. I had everything of hers including a large book of hers that I was never able to see, this book was her most protected item other then me. It's odd because she loved it so much, but when I opened the book there was nothing in the book. 

I boarded the plane after I checked in and made my way to the gate, I felt relief when the flight attendant told me I was seated at the front of economy, this meaning I can make on swift movement off of  the plane first. 

Just as I was about to dose off, I felt a tap on my shoulder "Excuse me ma'am, but I just need to scoot past you that's my seat" I looked up to see a dark haired handsome man, I unbuckled my belt and stood so that the handsome man could get past me. 

"Oops, I've got you love" The handsome man said as he caught me from slipping. I winced at the pain of him grabbing me by the waist, I half smiled at him and regained my balance letting him get past me, he had a window seat leaving the middle free. 

Dream

It was 11pm I was sound asleep, dreaming of mummy's beautiful face and how we played with bubbles, when there was a thump down stairs, I woke up being startled by the loud thump, I slowly rose from my bed walking over to the door peaking me head out the door, I noticed the light on down stairs, being the curious little girl I was, I went down stairs to see dad on the couch kissing a lady.

Quickly, I turned around and ran up the stairs. Hearing his thunderous steps behind me, I jumped in bed and grabbed my blankets and shoving them over my head, covering myself. Suddenly the door was swung open and he pulled my blankets off me.

"What did you see you little bitch?" he yelled, I shook my head saying nothing.

"Answer me you little bitch!" he yelled hitting me in the face, of course I didn't answer him; I was mute for Pete sake.

"I'll teach you not to answer me!" he yelled ripping me up by my hair, he slammed me against a wall and started chocking me..

End of dream

I was being shaken; I shot straight up scared and sore but I settled down when I saw it was just the flight attendant.

"Were going to land now, I just wanted to tell you" She said going to put a hand on my shoulder, but I flinched away from her touch.

"You alright love? I'm Nate" The handsome man said from besides me, I looked at him and nodded. "You don't speak much do you love?" Nate grinned at me, I pulled my note book out and began to write 'No, I don't speak at all'  He leant over and read what I had written, he nodded his head at me and said "whats your name, love?" It shocked me at his sudden interest in me, but I began to write my name 'Athena' I wrote before putting my note book away, our plane had just landed.
