Chapter 12

“We’re here. I can’t believe I’m finally home.” I whispered to myself as the air plane slowed down and landed. It kept moving for a while and then stopped. The pilot’s voice came over the speakers but I didn’t hear it. Only one thing was on my mind. ‘I’m going to meet mom after four years. God I missed her so much. I’m going to meet Ari……. I wonder if she missed me……..’ and my mind kept going on and on.

“Mommy. I want out.” Lily’s voice snapped me out of my reverie.

I looked around. Everybody had gotten off their seats and were trying to make their way to the door. I got up, took Lily’s hand, picked up her bag and joined the people on their way out.

I took a deep breath when I was finally off the plane. I looked down at Lily. She was jumping up and down with excitement and I don’t know why. Little kids have so much energy. I made my way to where all the suitcases and bags were kept and quickly grabbed mine and Lily’s. As soon as I had stepped out of the airport I saw someone running towards me and before I could see who it was, that someone had engulfed me in a hug.

“Oh my gosh. I can’t believe you’re finally here. I’ve missed you so much. Wow. You’ve changed a lot. You’re thinner than before and oh my gosh is this Lily. She looks like an angel> She’s so adorable. She looks so much like you though she has Louis’ eyes and looks-” she stopped when she noticed me glaring at her.

“Mommy. Who is Louis?” Lily asked.

Ari glanced at Lily then up at me and mouthed “Sorry.”

I glared at her and then looked down at Lily. “No one dear.” I smiled. “But this,” I pointed at Ari, “Is your auntie and god mother.”

Ari smiled at Lily and said, “Oh how’s my god daughter?” Yes, I had made Ari her god mother.

Ari picked her up and started swinging her round and round while Lily screamed with glee.

“Ari put her down. You’ll make her dizzy.”

She put Lily down.

“Oh, and by the way Lauren you never told me Lily’s full name. You always dropped the phone when I asked you. Will you just tell me what it is?”

“Ohhhh….. it’s errrr…” I hesitated.

“It has his name in it, right?” Ari asked.

I nodded.

“What is it?” she repeated her question.

“Lily Ariana Tomlinson.”

“So-err-do you still live with your parents?” I asked Ari.

“Yeah…. And my boyfriend is away so we can spend a lot of time together.”

“What?” my mouth dropped open. “You’re being loyal to your boyfriend?”

She glared at me and said: “Yeah.”

“So who is he?” I inquired.

“Niall.” She mumbled.

No. It couldn’t be Niall. ‘The Niall’. It couldn’t be. “Niall who?”
