What. The. Hell.

No. I didn't want to talk about it. I think I made that clear a long time ago.

I started to stand up but Louis stopped me by placing his hand on mine which was resting on my thigh.

"Lauren. Just hear me out. You don't have to say anything. Just listen. It's not that hard." He pleaded.

I didn't reply but turned my face away from him and nodded.

I heard him sigh. He breathed in and out for a few minutes before starting.

"Okay.. Uhhh..... I don't remember how it happened. I mean the first time she kissed me. I was drunk. You see, I had gone to a club with Liam and I got pretty drunk and I still don't remember what happened. Liam told me afterwords and it scared me as fuck. He said that he had lost me while I was drinking and he had been looking for me for an hour and then he found me. He found me being kissed by Blondie...err I mean Eva and he pulled her away from me. I don't remember anything clearly but I think she knew I was drunk and that's why she attacked me. I don't remember kissing her back.

"Anyways after I woke up the next morning Liam told me about it and I decided to tell you. I didn't want to tell you on the phone and you were busy that day so I didn't get a chance to tell you. And then me and the lads went to the beach. I don't even know how Eva was there too. I bumped into her. I didn't remember her but she remembered me. She kissed me again but this time I pushed her away but not before her friend took our picture. She threatened me that she would tell magazines that I was cheating on you and also send them the pictures if I told you about it. Then she just left. I was afraid of telling you because I didn't want you to think I would cheat on you and yes I didn't want the world to think I was a two-timing jerk either. I told the lads all about it and they told me that I should definitely tell you. And that day at the mall I saw her standing outside the store where you used to work. I tried to hide from her but she saw me and then...well you know what happened. I pushed her away but just before you saw me she said 'don't forget about those pictures Louis'. I was afraid. I wanted to tell you believe me. The guys had been trying to convince me to tell you and even I had promised myself that I would tell you but I just didn't want to make a mistake and ruin our relationship.

"Not telling you was a stupid mistake and I have regretted it ever since we broke up but you didn't even give me a chance to explain." He finished.

"I did give you a chance." I said after some silence.

"Yes and I'm sorry I lied."

Suddenly a thought struck me. "Wait. Was her name Eva Adams?"

"Umm... I think so. Yes. Why?" He asked.

"I can't believe it." I muttered.

"What?"

"She and I -if we're talking about the same Eva- used to be best friends in the sixth grade. Then her boyfriend dumped her because he liked me and well he kissed me and Eva got really mad but she never let me explain and she told me she would take revenge. I didn't take her seriously. She moved away when I was in the eighth grade."

"So that's why she did it."

"I guess."

"I'm sorry for not telling you Lauren. Please forgive me."

I didn't answer. I had realised something. If I had given louis at least one more chance to explain we would still have been together.

"That doesn't change the fact that you didn't tell me." I said.
