I Love You To Death (Gray x OC).

Somewhere to Call Home

It was morning and Tristitia slowly opened her eyes. There was something warm beneath her head, and as her finger dragged across the dark fabric, her eyes grew wide, her cheeks a flame as she quickly sat up. She turned to find a sleeping Gray.

Have I been sleeping on him since our conversation last night?! She patted her cheeks, trying to calm herself down.

"Natsu, you flame for brains!" Gray muffled in his sleep. Tristitia nearly jumped back in surprise before being easily captivated in the lines of his face. He looked so at ease, so peaceful despite the memories that must've plagued him. It was then that she envied the boy, wishing she could be like him, knowing that she never would.

He lifted an eyelid and she turned her  back to him, the flames in her cheeks now sparking again as she stood up.
"Good morning, Gray. "

"Good morning to you too, Tris. Sleep well?"

"Yeah... wait...what did you just call me? Tris?"

"Yah. I thought I would make a new nickname for you... since we're friends now."

"Friends?!" She scoffed. He barely knew her and there he went, telling her that she is his friend. 

"Yep. You are officially on Gray Fullbuster's buddy list." He said, wiggling his eyebrows.

She had to admit the way he smiled at her was endearing in a way, like he wasn't going to take no for an answer. He reminded her of a certain nuisance, resurrecting a resemblance of a laugh.

"... I've never...had a human friend before."

She has never had a human friend? The very thought tickled him, his mind swimming with possibilities of what they could have been before he came up with an idea.

"Hey Tris... what would you say if I told you I can bring you to a safe place where everyone there would treat you like family and accept you regardless of your past?"
"I'd say no such place existed before I'd smile and ask if real." She responded sarcastically.
"Well, you could join Fairy Tail..." Tris's eyes widened and she bit her lip, unsure if that was what she wanted.

"It'll be great. Trust me. They will love you. We have four dragon slayers and they are almost as scary as you," She glared at him playfully, her lips twisting in an attractive smile.

"Well... I guess since I am on Gray Fullbuster's buddy list, I should at least think about joining."

"Great. You will love it. I know you will.... now time to pack up for the train..."
