Gray's P.O.V
It was the end of the auction. Vendors started to pack up what remained of their items. Auctioneers finished up their conversations and their little show off bragging. Fortunately, no other burglars had come trying to steal any of the items.
I was still sore from Tris using the Tartuarus Curse on me, but it was better than dying from a fart.
I had been talking to Tris when Jace walked over.
"Hello, Jace. How may I help you?" I asked in a tone that advised Jace to hurry up so that we could be on our way back to his mansion.
"Well, since Tristitia frightened the Butt Jingle Gang away, she gets to choose an item to take back to Fiore with her." He replied, annoyed. His high pitched voice didn't seem to help either.
"It's okay, but Mr. Jace, would you allow Gray to choose the item for me? I wouldn't know what to pick."
I could tell that she too wanted him and his high pitched voice to leave us alone.
"Sure. Whatever you desire miss." Jace walked away.
"Are you sure you want me to choose?"
"Yeah. Why not? I want it to be a surprise and I only want you to give it to me when the moment is right."
I hope she doesn't think I'm getting her a wedding ring.
I stuffed my hands into my pockets and turned away, secretly blushing, my cheeks turning the shade of Natsu's hair.
I started making my way towards a booth. The vendor mostly sold swords, each with a unique design. One had a cat head on the hilt. Another looked like it was entirely made from glass. None of these seemed to appeal to me and I moved on to the next booth.
The next booth sold magical gems.
One glowed with a bright yellow color. Another was a red gem, which was weirdly throbbing.
Disgusted by the red gem, I made my way over to the next one, which was a jewelry one. Not thinking that Tris would like that sort of stuff seeing how she reacted to Lucy's dress, I passed by it. But that was when something caught my eye. I walked back over to the jewelry vendor's display case. In it was a silver cord with a ring of jagged ice hanging from it. The description read "The Ice Mage's Ring".
The scruffy bearded vendor walked up to me.
"Supposedly, son, an ice mage gave this to his lover and it made it that she would only ever be his".
Without a moment's hesitation, I took it for Tris.
