Erza's P.O.V
"Don't worry, I've got him. You guys take care of the others!" Yelled Natsu, engaging in battle with Adonis.
"Don't have to tell me twice, flaming flamingo!" Gray charged at Otis. I charged at Jacques, who'd given away our position earlier.
"Requip!" I yelled, my armor changing into my demon armor, equipped with horns and demon wings.
"Ah, a requip mage. That's new. No matter," He smiled, reaching into his pockets. A moment later, five daggers were sailing through the air, each towards me. I successfully deflected them with my sword.
"Ah, mighty fine swordsmanship."
I swung at him, but he leaned back, dodging my sword's tip. He was quite swift on his feet, and very flexible. I swung again, but he flipped through the air, dodging my attack again and throwing more daggers, which I deflected.
He landed on the ground, smirking as if he'd just gotten the best idea.
"You're pretty good one on one, but what if there were more?!" He smiled, replicating himself. In the end, there was ten Jacques, excluding the original. They mixed and blurred, all smiling at me.
"Can you find me?" Said one in the middle.
"Or will we..." chimed another.
"Beat you first?!" Said a third, finishing the other's sentence. With that, they all charged at me. All I had to do was take down the fake Jacqueses to get to the real one.
I charged towards the closest Jacques, slashing at him. He disinagrated into a pile of ash and dust. That's when I realized that these weren't clones. They were illusions.
Right when I had found this out, an immense pain started to spread through my head. Memories played like a record rewinding; and seemed to settle on specific memories, like a filter only wanting the good ones. The ones it could use against me. It started at the beginning. From my imprisonment on the Tower of Heaven. From the day I joined Fairy Tail. From the day Simon died.
"Get... out...of my... HEAD!" I screamed through the pain, lashing out at the Jacques illusions, which turned into piles of dust around my feet.
Suddenly, it was over and the pain in my head disappeared. Jacques had gotten out of my head.
"Jacques, where are you, you bastard?!"
"Erza?" I turned around. In front of me stood not Jacques, but Jellal.
"Jellal," I closed my eyes, unable to fathom what I was seeing. When I opened my eyes again, he was still there.
"Jellal, you're not here, you're not real."
"No, Erza, I am as alive as you are."
"No, you're an illusion. "
He walked up to me, bringing his arms around my torso, pulling me into a tight embrace.
"If I am an illusion, why am I not turning into dust?"
I savored the hug, starting to let my guard down. But I knew I couldn't trust him.
I rested my head on his chest. Turning to look at his neck, I noticed a queer guild mark of a skull with a dragon intertwined in its eye sockets.
I pulled away, and readied my sword.
"Erza, it's me, your sweet Jellal." He grinned, the same grin that Jacques always had plastered on his ugly face.
"How dare you toy with my emotions?!" I charged, thrusting my sword towards his chest. He jumped back, and I swung again, but he grabbed the hilt of my sword, pushing the tip towards my neck.
"It's the end of the line, Erza." He said, that stupid grin still on his face.
"No, it isn't." I replied stubbornly, tripping him. He fell, his grip loosening on the hilt.
I lowered my body over him, digging the blade into his neck.
"Are you really going to kill your sweet Jellal, Erza?"
"No," I replied, banging the hilt onto his head harshly. He passed out and the illusion of Jellal slowly turned back into Jacques.
Done with the fight, I requiped into my normal armor and walked away. Natsu and Lucy were both done and were walking this way along with Tristitia, who was carrying her sister. Gray walked towards us, a weak smile on his face, blood leaking from a cut on his lip.
Then, a beam of blinding light penetrated through his chest before he turned to Tris and collapsed down on the ground, blood covering his chest.
"GRAY!!!"
