The blonde guy lights up when we come back. Seems like no one else has played at his table.
"Ten in." I stand opposite him.
"New player, ten in." He places the chip between us. Our first card is a nine. Second is an eight. His first is a king. "Hit or stay?" I cock my head to the side.
"Hit." He deals a new card. It's a two. Fuck, let's hope for the best. "Stay."
"Player stays." He flips his second card. Five. He deals a new card. Nine! I almost scream. "Player wins." He smiles a bright smile when he hands me the chips. Thank the God I started praying to three days ago. I can't stop smiling.
"Ten in." He repeats his my words and deals the cards. Five and two. He gets eight. "Hit." Seven. Fuck it, I'm high on adrenaline. "Hit." Six. "Stay." I smile. He checks his second card. Nine, and when he hits he gets seven. Double up again.
"Are you sure you should continue?" The guy asks, looking behind me. "Your boyfriend doesn't seem to like it." I am close to correcting him, but then answer
"He'll just have to deal with it." I feel Daniel shift behind me, but continue.
I lose two times, but soon I decide we have enough. Ten to two hundred is pretty damn lucky, I don't think we should challenge the universe. Daniel doesn't say anything while we go to change them into money.
"We're do you wanna stay?" I ask while we exit, right as the owners of some other fancy car.
"I dunno." He doesn't say anything more. I sigh, rolling my eyes. We walk over to the car as the sky turns pink. "What can we afford here anyway?" I open the car door and climb in.
"Well" I take up the thick black wallet. "Mr Olsen, it seems like you can afford most places." Daniel's eyes widen.
"You took his wallet?" I laugh.
"Who's? The dealer? Heck no." Turning it around I show him the ID. A pale, think man with dark hair looks bored back at the camera. "Now he looks like someone who could afford that car." I jerk my head at the car just turning out. Daniel just stares at me. I let it be at first, but after five minutes of silence I snap. "What!?"
"Sorry." He mumbles and turns back forward. The car starts and he backs out. "So where do you wanna go?"
"I don't know." I answer quietly. My good mood has run off me. "You choose." He doesn't say anything more and I look out the window as he drives down the boulevard.
"Hello, how can I help you?" The woman's smile is so fake I wanna laugh in her face. She sees us as someone with money, money to spend and preferably here. Daniel looks at me and gesture at him to talk, crossing my arms over my chest. I'm cold.
"I wondered if you had any rooms available." The red head's eyes are wide and her mouth is dragged to a wide smile. I can't with this woman. She nods and starts checking her computer, loose curls falling out of her bun. What's that color, devil red? I mentally slap my own cheek.
"Yes, we have a few, would you like a double room?" Her nails tap frequently at the keys.
"N-" I interrupt Daniel before he can utter another syllable.
"Yeah, that sounds great." She smiles at us.
"Name?" This time I don't even let Daniel start speaking.
"Jackson." I turn to Daniel, who backed away from the counter when I took a step forward. "Is it okey that we put it in your name?" He swallow and nods. Was he actually going to give his real name?
