Dean's fingers worked agilely on the keyboard, letters coming out fluently with no mistakes, hands becoming more confident as they danced on the laptop. The couch wasn't the most comfortable place to earn his living but it was tolerable.
"You're going to work yourself to death, Dean," a deep voice came from behind him followed by firm hands coming to rest on his shoulders. Dean froze and stared blankly at the bright screen. "You need a break."
"I'm fine. Don't worry about me," Dean rest his hand on his boyfriends, "I'm fine. It's you that's working too much." With that he sharply drew his hand away from comforting the other and went back to typing.
Castiel was dark and mostly mysterious, he never shared much about his job, his past, or much else. What Dean did know about him was that he was sweet, charming and just as dorky as he was the day he tripped up in the middle of the street and literally fell into his arms.
There was something domineering about him, the raised eyebrow and like he knew everything. That's what scared Dean. But that's also what really attracted him too.
Cas had his ruffled, black hair all over the place as usual and buttons undone on his tight fitting shirt, Dean saw as he came to sit beside him. He kept looking between what Dean was doing and Dean himself.
"Lay it off, Cas."
"It's nearly 11, Dean. Come on, let's go to bed?"
Dean let out a long sigh and shut his laptop. "I guess you're right." He turned around and placed his hand on Cas' thigh, the other one at his waist and tested a tickle which got Cas chuckling immediately. His hand trailed further up his thigh and squeezed, pushing himself on Cas to the end of the couch.
"Hmm," Cas pressed his lips on Dean's with a smug grin. When he felt Dean's hand venture onto his crotch he pushed Dean completely off. "Wait."
"What?" Dean panted, confused and slightly turned on.
"I think before we do this...I think we should you know, get...tested?" Cas bit his lip and pulled a cushion between him and his hugged knees.
"Now, Cas? Really?"
"We've spent a couple of months off because you...cheated on me-"
"Cas, how many times-"
"Yes, it was for information on this weird and quiet-ass job you keep everything and your friends away from me, and now it's 'different'."
It was a stupid decision. One Dean would do anything to go back and change. But it got him information, and now he had Cas back in his arms, he tried not to dwell on his actions because the self loathing and depression creep up on him so easily in these vulnerable situations.
So now Dean paid the price of guilt. That and a pissed off boyfriend who he, and he was never going to admit this, fell for the moment he met eye contact with.
"We've talked about this, Cas. I'm not going to make that mistake again. Trust me," his hand rested reassuringly on Cas' shoulder.
"Yes. But I just..."
"Okay. It doesn't mean that much, just a test on if I've got anything because I'm 'such a slut' who 'sleeps around constantly for cock'," Dean imitated Cas' angry sister, Hannah's, calls. "Even if I did deserve it."
"It's not just you...after you left me, I..." Cas trailed off and looked down at the floor, avoiding Dean's imposing stare. His blush was hot on his cheeks.
"Wait...you...?"
"Two guys. I got lonely. You were gone and I-"
"I forgive you. Not that there's anything to forgive. I mean, dude," Dean scratched the back of his neck, "okay let's forget this whole thing. I'm sorry for what I did Cas. And I suppose we should go and get tested before we venture back into the entire relationship...thing."
