When he regained consciousness, Dean found himself tied up with his hands around some wooden structure inside a near empty cabin. He hadn't recalled how he ended up here. He just remembered a dead, blue gaze.

And it lead to Lucifer revealing himself in Cas' body, talking about how stupid Dean was and almost suffocating him. How dare he - in Cas' body.

Dean spat at the archangel currently possessing Castiel.

"So what? Oh, you actually think Cas is helpful now? That he's not expendable!? That you actually care about him? You drove him to the nearest thing to suicide! You-You think he's just going to forgive you after you say a couple of words and he'll come running back?"

"Yes!"

Yes, all those things were true, every single word. He'd done that to Cas and now his heart payed the price which he thought he'd never have to.

Of course he never thought of it like this because he had his head up his ass so long he forgot Cas was so human.

But now he was asking Cas to do something one last time.

"Why, Dean? Why do you think he'll come back to you?"

"Because..."

Lucifer cocked an eyebrow and walked up closer, Angel blade being twisted around like it was a play toy. "Yes?"

"Because I love him, and I'll do my damnedest to believe he feels the same way. And maybe - just maybe - he will kick you out."

Satan let out a little burst of laughter. "The power of love saves the day, does it?"

"Yeah, and you know what, it's more powerful, more profound, than you think."

"Oh, Dean. You should hear Cas now, up in here, crying out to you, it's hilarious," Luci sung almost. "Just the Friday night entertainment I need."

"You douche, just get out!"

"He consented, Dean. Don't forget that."

"I never will," Dean breathed.

"Now, with Amara gone, I suppose it's back to the big bad ol' apocalypse starring yours truly," Lucifer pointed to himself with the tip of the blade.

"Posses someone else! Just not Cas! Anyone but Cas!"

Dean was begging now. It was pitiful almost, but his eyes flickered with desperation and loss like no one had ever experienced. And the damn restraints were too well done to undo.

"Castiel is just perfect though, Dean. You don't understand how comfortable he is." To prove the point, he rolled his shoulders. "And, just between me and you, he's got rather a large package down there."

"Please. Leave him alone," Dean sobbed as he felt one tear fall. Then he stood up, sniffling in and staring Lucifer dead in the eyes. "I'll do it. Posses me."

Suddenly Lucifer twitched, then stumbled backwards like gravity had gone off balance. "Dean! No! Don't let hi-"

That was Cas.

Before Dean's open mouth could get words out of it, Lucifer got held of the vessels reigns again. "Oh no you don't, Cassie. So, is that a yes Dean?"

Dean panted, searching Lucifers face. He didn't want to say it but at least Cas would be safer.

Cas suddenly regained control again, hands shaking. His gaze travelled up to Dean's eyes. "I love you, Dean."

"I love you too, Cas."

"I can fight this. Give me a moment. I will expel him, just..." He groaned, clutching his chest as he felt his brother take ahold again.

"That's enough, Cas. You don't actually think you'll be able to get rid of Satan himself? You're weak and pathetic! No wonder the boys don't care about you-"

"That's not true!" Dean yelled.

"Don't believe them, Castiel, you gullible, poor excuse of an angel."

Cas' body stumbled once more, almost landing on the floor. Cas looked like he was in immense pain, so Dean struggled against the bonds more, as if it would do any good and bring him closer to Cas.

"I'm sorry Dean."

"Cas. Cas, hey! Look at me. I'm sorry, you have nothing to apologise for. I should've paid more attention to you rather than being a miserable, selfish and ignorant bastard who has an unhealthy codependency with my brother."

"Dean-"

"I love you. And I want Lucifer out so I can say that every single day for the rest of our lives."

Cas suddenly stumbled backwards, closed his eyes and spread his arms out like he was waiting for God himself to strike him dead. Dean hoped it wasn't that.

Then, out of his eyes and the ends of his trench coats, came a bright blueish white light that eventually filled the room. Dean closed his eyes to get away from the blinding light and cowered away in the restraints.

As quickly as it began, it was over and Dean looked up to see Cas in an extremely shocked state, flushed and messy haired.

"I've...I've done it."

"Son of a bitch," Dean grinned. "Can you, uh, get me out of these restraints?"

Cas reached behind Dean, pressing their chests together. It only took a touch of his finger on them to make them disappear.

Shaking his body after being so tight up for so long, Dean let himself relax and Cas stepped back to allow him some space.

"So?" Dean shyly looked at the floor.

"So..."

"Power of love, eh?"

Cas shuffled around on his feet. "I believe this is an appropriate time to kiss you."

"Fuck yeah," Dean breathed before wrapping an arm around Cas' neck and pressing their lips together.
