Eria's P.O.V
"Has there been any sign of him?" I ask Castor as soon as we're behind closed doors.
He shakes his head. "I've been searching, Eria, but there hasn't been anything yet. Myra is still missing as well."
I bite down on my bottom lip and play nervously with my fingers. "You don't think they're dead, do you?" I ask.
Castor shakes his head. "They can still be alive. You said you didn't see Wren all that day when the ice took over, right?"
I nod my head. "At least that's what I remember. It's all really fuzzy still."
Castor sighed and sat down at his desk. "I know what you mean. We're still trying to figure out how many years have passed. We haven't been able to make contact with any of the other surrounding Kingdoms. I'm having some men go and see what's going on."
I nod again and sit down slowly. "I just hope Garner makes everything okay soon. This Kingdom has suffered through enough. It's time that we all come together and heal."
Castor nods his head. I can tell he's only half listening. That far away look in his eyes tells me that he's thinking of something else completely.
"I think you should turn in, early. It's going to be a long night and you'll regret it in the morning." He finally breaks the silence.
I let out a long sigh. "I suppose that's best." I mumble. "Send someone to wake me if anything happens, okay?"
He smiles a little bit at me. "I promise. Now go and get some rest."
I laugh a little bit and stand up. "Goodnight, Castor."
"Goodnight, Eria." He nods at me as I leave the room.
I walk slowly back to my room, I can't imagine where Wren would've gone. Did I see him the day the Kingdom froze?
I could almost swear he was there... Why couldn't I remember?
Sighing, I push my bedroom door open and slip inside unceremoniously and shut the door.
"Eria!" I turn and almost freeze.
"Wren..." I whisper.
It's almost too good to be true, isn't it? I bite down on my bottom lip, I almost don't want to believe it.
Wren is across the room in a second, wrapping me in a tight hug.
"I heard that the curse was gone, but I couldn't find any news on you being safe." He mumbled against my hair.
I laughed a little and hugged him back just as tight. "Castor wanted to keep it under wraps. Incase my mother's kidnapper was still out there." I said.
Wren nodded his head and pulled away.
He cupped my face. "God I've missed you so much." He says while stroking my cheek with his thumb.
I smile a little and look down. "What about you?" I ask him. "Where were you all this time? I was beginning to believe you were dead."
Wren goes silent. He pulls away from me. "I can't talk about that."
I frown. "Why can't you? Wren, you know you can tell me anything."
He bites down on his bottom lip. "And that's just it, Eria. I can't tell you this. I'm sorry."
I sigh a little. "Alright, fine."
He smiles a little. "Thank you..."
I just nod my head and don't reply.
