"You have to at least tell me what's going on." I plead with the old woman.
The woman only laughs and tightens the binds on my wrists.
"I need the savior, my dear girl. And you are close to him, are you not?" she asks.
I shake my head. "He won't come here just because I'm in danger."
The old woman just smiles again. "My dear, I think he would even if his little lover is harmed." She stroked her hand over my cheek, making me cower back.
Her nails were sharp, I'm surprised they didn't scrap into my skin.
"Now sleep my dear, Rose. You'll wake up in the most loveliest of places." She blows on my face.
I smell in the scent of tea and garbage before my eyes get too heavy to keep open.
I feel my head drop down and everything slowly fades to black.
I'm awake now, in a field.
But how was that possible, I was just in her lair... the basement I think.
"Who are you?" a voice asks.
I turn around to face the owner of the voice, squeezing my hands into fists if they showed any hostility.
"I'm not telling you who I am until you tell me who you are." I say.
It's a boy who looks to me my age, maybe a little bit older.
Brown hair, almost blonde in this sun-was it a sun, or just my imagaination of light?-and brown eyes were watching me, studying my face, as he walked closer.
"I'm Wren." He says slowly. "Now who are you?"
My eyes grow wide. "Wren as in Eria's Wren?" I ask him.
He frowns a little and nods his head. "You've heard of me then, I assume? That's funny because I haven't heard about you."
I shake my head. "I'm Rose... what is this place."
I felt my body relax a little bit.
He walked closer. "The place before oblivion." He says. "Someone wants to keep you alive but not awake." He raises an eyebrow at me. "Where are you?"
I shrug my shoulders. "I have no idea... I was with Princess Eria and Prince Quince."
Wren's eyes flash. "She's with him?" he asks.
I nod my head. "That's how I left them." I answer.
He scowls a little. "Well that's just great." He says.
I tilt my head. "Wait, Eria said you were dead... how are you here then?" I ask him.
He gives me a small smile. "Complicated... it's a little hard to explain. She still needs me."
I frown still. "The woman upstairs?" I ask him.
He shakes his head. "She's just... unexplainable. When this is all over I'll look into it for you. We don't need anyone with these powers walking around."
"Explain something to me then." I tell him.
He looks at me. "What is it?" he asks.
"Who exactly are you? You obviously know more than you're letting on."
His eyes grow hard. "I don't know if it's safe to tell you."
"I'm not going anywhere." I tell him. "After all, who am I really going to tell? I don't think I'll be getting out of this situation alive at least..."
