"Here's your clothes." I gesture back to them being folded neatly on the bed.

Bryn nods his head. "Let me take you back to the infirmary." He says. He looks around the room. "Where'd you put the thing?"

"I hid it under the bed." I answer. "There was a shoe box in your closet." "Okay..." he nods again and looks away. "Come on." He doesn't hold out his hand like last time, instead he just turns on his heel and begins walking.

I have to jog a little just to keep up with him.

Once he notices he slows down.

I bite my lip. "What's on your mind?" I whisper.

He just shrugs his shoulders. "I'm just trying to think of a reason for someone to do all of this. Why hurt this many people for no reason?"

I frown and look to the ground. "Maybe they do have a reason. It might not make sense to any of us, but to them it could be the reason that pushed them over the edge. Made them do all of this."

Bryn frowned. "I think that's what made it all worst."

"What do you mean by that?" I ask him.

"Bryn!" another voice echoed over the hallway, causing the both of us to jump.

One of the guards marched up to us. "What are you doing out of your quarters?" The look he gave me said it as a rhetorical question... not meant to be answered.

I looked away and tried to fight back the redness growing in my cheeks.

"I found her lurking around the hallways, Steve. Something you should be looking out for." Bryn answered him while glaring.

Steve didn't appear started by Bryn's words. Instead he just nodded his head a little bit.

"Don't get caught by Samuel." He nods at me. "Goodnight miss." Turning, he walks off and disappears into one of the rooms.

Bryn takes my arm in his hand. "Come on, we have to hurry before the nurses notice you're missing."

I didn't say anything, instead I just followed him back to the infirmary.
There were no goodbyes or anything. As soon as I was in bed, Bryn was turning to leave.

I watched him go before curling up to fall asleep.

Eria's P.O.V

"I just don't understand Wren. What's so horrible that you can't tell me about it?" I asked him for what seemed like the billionth time.

He just shakes his head. "I just can't, Eria. Drop it." His voice is firm this time, I can hear the anger.

I frown and look away. "Fine. How much longer do we have?"

He shrugs. "Time is almost up. There's something I have to tell you though. Those fire creatures. There is a way to stop them."

I look over at him. "What do you mean? We defeated them all the other day. Now you're telling me there's a way to stop them?"

He nods. "The fire creatures are stopped. But that won't stop her next attack."

"She's a woman? The person attacking the kingdom is a woman?" I ask, cutting him off.

His eyes go wide. "Uh, no... I just... the fire creatures won't stop the next attack from happening."

I roll my eyes. "When's the next attack so we can prepare?"
