The girls breath was hot on my neck as she leaned in closer, our bodies moving in a synchronized fashion across the ballroom floor. I remembered being in here as a child, before I had to worry about getting a princess to become queen when we rule.I miss being a child, the pure innocence that was inside me. The thought of having no more worries is relaxing and I so wish I could go back in time and not have to stress out over finding a date. Many girls are here tonight. It was my parents idea to have a ball and invite lots of potential wives for me to dance with and get to know. None of them took my fancy though. Not even this cute blonde haired girl with the blue corset dress and glass slippers. I didn't feel any electricity as her hands made their way into my hair and mine gripped her waist."Excuse me please," I told the girl and walked into the kitchen. It was made for the servants to prepare the food and I rarely went in the room but tonight I needed to get away. My head was pulsing due to the music that constantly played at these balls, I was certain they always use the same playlist. "Had enough chicks?" A voice sounded behind me, I was shocked by the tone of the person's voice. I turned around and there stood a servant boy who I had not seen before. I didn't pay too much attention to his appearance but I did take in his sly smile, the dimple that indented onto his cheek and his eyes that were staring at me intently - although from here I couldn't tell what color they were."Excuse me?" I spoke up, for no one would speak to a prince this way. Especially not a servant. It was callous behavior!"I'm sorry your highness," he told me but he by no means appeared to actually be sorry. He took a sarcastic bow, his eyes making contact with mine in a way that made my blood boil. He was mocking me! "Let me rephrase. Have you had enough of all the pretty girls chatting you up?"The funny part of the entire conversation was that he thought he was being clever and disrespectful by insinuating pretty girls bored me when in fact they really did but I was not about to speak about my personal troubles with someone my parents hired, unless it were a therapist perhaps but even then I would rather keep these thoughts to myself. "Are you new or something?" I asked him, all my servants know not to speak to someone in higher power as though they are a friend to have casual banter with. Many servants remain silent when I am around."No sir, been here for over half a year." I looked at him disbelieving, I was sure he was lying since I had never seen him before... although I have had a lot on my plate recently. "How will you run the country if you're so unobservant?" He picked up a wet cloth and tutted at me. I felt irritation bubble up inside me and ground my teeth, as a prince I should never raise my voice to a citizen without good reason but I couldn't help myself."How dare you!?" I spat, but my words affected him very little. If anything it brought a spark to his eyes, he knew he had gotten under my skin and he was proud of it."Apologies," He spoke before cleaning the countertop nearby, pretending to be hard at work although he was clearly missing all the dirty patches. "But your mother and father seem to like me so I wouldn't fire me if that's what you want to do." He told me, he was lying again but I didn't care this time. I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath."Very well. You're done for the day anyway, get back to your quarters." I indicated for him to leave and, surprisingly, he complied."Alright." Him listening to me so easily only seemed to intensify my anger. He began to walk away but I just couldn't let him leave without one final warning."Never turn your back on the-""-king?" He finished the sentence for me, he spun around to face me and cocked his head to one side "But you're not really that. Are you? Not yet, at least.""You have some nerve kid!" I yelled. How dare he use my royal status to degrade me, if you look at it in a hierarchy I was well above him. He should never speak to me this way, how did he even get employed? Was my father insane when he made that decision? Because he obviously isn't very good at first impressions."Kid?" he laughed. "We're literally the same age, you absolute spoon""What did you call me? I can't believe you would-" I began before figuring out he was a lost cause. I sighed and looked towards the exit that would lead me back to the ball. "I don't have time for you."

"Maybe you'll have time for me later. Staircase 4, fifth door on the left. Knock twice." He winked at me and swiftly left the room, I stared after him and wondered what the hell had just happened.
