The next morning I woke up alone. It was strange to have a house to myself and I couldn't quite settle. I looked around at the dusted over photo frames and decided to do something to help out Dans family since they had been nice enough to let me stay .

I looked in the cupboards and decided to stay away from any chemicals as I was sure it would end badly. Instead I grabbed a feather duster, one I had seen the servants use back at the castle.
I was too preoccupied to hear the garden gate creak open. I was staring at a picture of Dan and Toby as I swiped away the dust. Toby looked exactly like I remembered. Dan has tired eyes now but when he was younger they were soft and full of life - softer and more soulful than Tobys that's for sure.

Pretty soon the front door opened and this time I heard the noise.
"I didn't think you'd be back so soon," I said to the man in the hallway. He was silent for a while but soon came into view.
"It's good to see you again, Philip," It wasn't Dan.
I couldn't believe what I was seeing, who I was seeing.
"Toby?" I stuttered.
"You remember me-" I watched him as he wondered around the living room, swiping dust off tables with his fingertips. "-how sweet." He said the last word harshly. "How's the real world? I heard you went missing and just knew my brother had something to do with it."
"How'd you know that?" I questioned suspiciously. Was Toby spying on me?
"You clung to me from day one and we all know Dan and I are very much alike so it's no wonder you've clung to him too." But Toby was nothing like Dan. Dan was kind and cared for me, Toby just left and never wanted to be friends with me. "Except this time it's worse, you could get him killed."
"What do you mean?" I swallowed down a lump that had somehow managed to lodge itself in my throat.
"Do you really think they'd let Dan go free when they find out he's kidnapped the prince?"
"He hasn't kidnapped me." I defended and shook my head. No one would believe that... I ran away, Dan was just sheltering me.
"That's not what they're going to think if I call up and tell them"
"I'll testify against it." I balled my fists up and my nails dug into my skin.
"Stolkholm syndrome makes people think crazy things." He glanced at me and showed off his smug smile. He began to walk around the room again, twirling around in an odd manor as he touched old books on the shelf before he finally fell onto the sofa and surfed through the freeview channels on the old TV set.

"Why are you doing this?" My voice was so quiet I was sure he hadn't heard it at first.
"You got me fired!" He snapped suddenly. He slammed the TV remote onto the coffee table and climbed to his feet.
All of this, threatening Dans life and coming after me, was because he was fired? And he was blaming me?
"You stole from the castle." I snapped back as a sudden anger raged through me.
"Is that what they told you?" He laughed darkly. "Your father fired me because I was too close to you. He didn't like it, he didn't want a gay son. Which is ridiculous since, even if I were gay, I'd never fall for such a worthless little boy."
"Shut up!" I shot at him.
"Soon Dan will realise that's all you are too." He continued and walked closer to me.
"I said shut up!" I clenched my fists and held them to my side.
"Well that and trouble. Every person you meet, every place you go, will be destroyed."
"Toby for the last time: shut it!"
"What will you do?" He was right, I had nothing but empty threats to give. "Better question, what can I do? I can tell them you're here, I bet they'll put Dan on death row by tomorrow."
"You wouldn't." I took in a deep breath when I realised he would."He's your brother."
"We share blood, that's it." He scoffed.
"What do you want?" I asked when it became apparent he didn't care about anyone.
"Money." He said it simply.
"I've got none."
"But the castle does. Your parents do."
"I've ran away." I told him, hoping he'd leave.
"Then go back and get me my money, otherwise you can say goodbye to Dan." He walked slowly to the door and left me standing in the middle of the room, clutching the feather duster to my chest as it rose up and down rapidly. Toby turned to me one last time. "I'll be back tomorrow to discuss the details, you have until then to decide if you value your freedom more than Dan's life."

Isn't Toby lovely?
I'll update the next chapter as soon as I can... it may be a while before I update since my mum's going to the hospital to have surgery. If it goes well then new chapter tomorrow, if not then I'll try to get it by the end of the week '^-^
