"Philip?" William called me the following morning. Rather than having a servant knock on my door I had William barge in and stand in my door which consumed his slender frame. If he wore black he probably would look like slender man if I was being completely honest but he prided himself in his red waistcoat - which is still creepy when you see a shadowed over man watching you sleep whilst calling your name. When he saw I was awake he smiled at me softly and came into the room. "Sorry to disturb you at this hour but your mother's friends wedding is to take place tomorrow and I have been instructed to get you a suit for the event."
"Another suit?" I groaned. My mother was a never wear something twice kind of person, if not for her my father would probably wear the same thing for a week straight. If it wasn't for her I would probably just wear casual clothing and completely ruin the formal image that the prince must uphold.
I sighed.

"I know it's a bit late," William carried on talking as I rubbed sleep from my eyes and sat up in bed, the duvet placed messily in my lap. "So, I asked another student for help."
"Thank you, that should speed things up," I said and smiled at William for the thoughtful idea. It was nice when William and I were able to spend hours searching through suits and talk about normal things, it was nice to be able to get away from my parents. Which sounded dreadful but I didn't care about their agendas and half of their conversations always involved me and my future which was something I definitely didn't want to think about. Even so, I thanked the servants presence because I knew it would cut down our shopping time and I didn't particularly want to talk much today. Not when I had Dan on my mind.

"Get changed and we will go," William instructed and I gave him a swift nod. Before I had a chance to stand up someone else was at the door. "Daniel, I told you I would meet you downstairs!" William told the servant in exasperation. No way. I looked up. No way.
"Dan?" He looked at me and smiled in that way he does. The way where his dimple shows and his eyes shine and the corners of his eyes crinkle up and the way that makes me fall in love with him that little bit more. I hated that smile. I loved that smile.
"You know each other?" William asked, looking between us both with a confused look on his face.
"Yes-" Dan said.
"-Barley," I said at the same time.
"Okay..." William trailed off and then cleared his throat to break away the awkwardness, it didn't work. "Daniel, downstairs now."
Dan did what he said automatically.
"Meet you at the car in five," I told William who nodded and left, closing the door behind him. I sighed in defeat and curled up on my bed for the two of the five minutes I had to get ready. No way. Why Dan?

The shop was as stuffy as always and smelled like a charity shop or an elderly nursing home, that distinct smell of dust lay almost hidden beneath the scent of fabrics. A mix-matched odour that held not only those smells but also wooden floors that had been polished so hard I was surprised there was anything left of it. I was accustomed to these smells but it seemed like Dan was not and wrinkled up his nose upon entering.
"Okay, well these are the selections of suits we have to look over." William began. Usually, he skips this bit but since Dan was here he was showing the new guy where everything was, which completely defeated the purpose of having him here if he was going to add time rather than help us cut it. I glanced around the shop awkwardly. It felt wrong to have Dan this close to me in public, his skin was almost touching mine and I was worried people could see how much I liked it, how much I wanted his warm skin to rub against my arm or how much I wanted his hand to intertwine with mine. "And-"
"-William, you are needed!" His words were cut off as a trainee tailor ran into the shop, ringing the bell that was probably installed in the late 1800's by lack of sound it actually managed to transmit into the air. We all turned to the man, he was sweating and looked like he was about to pass out.
"Be right there." William gave the man a sympathetic smile before turning to me and whispering, "so much for quicker." He rolled his eyes and then left.

"This one would look sexy af on you, don't you think?" Dan asked as soon as William left and we were almost alone. I glanced nervously at the cashier but he wasn't looking at us. I clenched my fists, this was enough! Dan was jeopardising my reputation and I wouldn't let him get away with it. It's one thing to do it in private but not here! Never her.
"Dan what the hell are you doing here!?" I hissed and he dropped his hand away from the clothing rack of suits.I felt anger rage inside me. "It's one thing to talk to me away from others but to get William involved in this little game is just-"
"Phil, William asked me," Dan tried to calm me down and it nearly worked, nearly.
"It's Philip!" I shot at him, my words like venom as I aimed them at Dan.
"Okay, woah calm down Princey," Dan looked at me almost mockingly, which just made me even more frustrated with him.
"Shut up!" I yelled. I heard the cashier shuffle and looked around to see him obviously trying to avoid eye contact, I glared at Dan.

"Let's just pick something out alright? I can help," Dan said, seeing he may have pushed things too far.
"What do you know about suits?"
"A lot more than you'd think actually." Dan rolled his eyes at me.
"Oh really?"
"Really," he stated and stared me down.

"Philip?" A familiar voice sounded behind me, interrupting mine and Dan's argument. I turned to see Finnick. I put on a smile.
"Hello, Finnick, no brother I see?" I noted.
"Not today no." He shook his head but gave no elaboration as to why, instead he looked towards Dan and nodded his head in his general direction. "And who is this we have?"
"This is Daniel," saying his full name felt odd on my tongue, "he's a servant of mine."
"Oh... servant," Finnick's nose wrinkled up and he put on his snootiest voice. "Charmed to meet you."
This would be the point where Finnick would put his hand out but since Dan was a servant he made no attempt to, probably worried he'll catch germs or something stupid like that. Finnick always was a bit too up his arse and fake for my liking. Finnick looked around but when he couldn't find what he was looking for he questioned me, "where is William?"
"He had to leave early," I told Finnick who once again looked at Dan.
"And he left you with that?" Finnick laughed although his joke was not funny. I hated the way he looked at Dan and I hated the way he talked about him. Like he was a piece of crap that had been squashed into his shoe and he couldn't get it out no matter who he hired to do it. He treated like he would be better thrown away than to be anywhere near him.
"Yes, he's actually a very good servant," I defended Dan, my jaw clenched.
"I'm sure," Finnick said, "but I wouldn't want a peasant boy to pick out my clothes, he can hardly dress himself."
"Well, I guess that's the difference between me and you," I smiled falsely. "Now if you'll excuse me I have some clothes to choice." I gestured towards the clothes behind me when I actually wanted to gesture he get the heck out of my way and throw himself out the door.
"Very well, I was just leaving. Goodbye, Philip, pleasure Daniel."
"Pleasures all mine," Dan smiled widely at Finnick who made an unattractive noise and left.

"Who was that? Dan laughed as I glared angrily at the spot where he had just been.
"A friend," I mumbled as I went over to the clothing rack and began to flick through the different designs.
"Your friends with that ass?" Dan came up behind me. I gripped onto the sleeve of a suit, I felt the cashmere silk between my fingers. The creamy soft fabric becoming rough in my grip. I turned to Dan, he didn't get it at all.
"It's cute you think I get to choose my friends..."
